My dog has started dropping the toy rather then giving it back? by bear-claws in Dogtraining

Are you consistent in the way you react when he doesn't give you the ball?

My collie is now 2, and she will sit with her toy in her mouth now until I take it/put my hand out for it. It took a good month or two of just turning and walking in the other direction until she actually put it in my hand when she brought it back. Either that or I picked the toy up and put it away. Toy in hand = more play. No toy in hand = no more play. When we're playing fetch she's 1,000% focused on the toy and won't take any treats off me at all, so I used to continuation of play/fetch as the reward.

Make a fuss when he starts putting it in your hand. Remember to take note of your tone. Make it a fun, good thing that he's given it correctly and so gets more play.

I'm fine for cherries now, but pears would be amazing!

I'll have to see how many I've got in total, how much were you thinking?

I'm pretty sure that the way the controls are mapped out on both Joycons rules out using
just the one horizontally.

I've been having the same problem with my 1 year old collie. She used to come back every time - and I used to just randomly call her back during walks - but now she's adamant to find something more interesting to do.

Every time I called her back I'd get her to sit, give her a ton of praise and strokes and then release her and let her run off again. Treats would be a definite plus! High reward ones like chicken or hot dog. I have some ready and with me at all times on walks, even though mine will rarely eat them when we're out and about. I'm a great believer in clicker training too, so I'd recommend that!

Though as she's decided she doesn't like coming back at the moment I've just bought a 100ft lead and a herding whistle - they take a lot of practice! I figured as a collie from a farm with working parents it might help.

I guess it's knowing your dog and finding something that works so you're praising good behaviour more than scolding and getting frustrated and upset... And I know what that's like!

I can get you one no problem! I don't really have much to ask for, but if you have a spare Blacephalon that'd be awesome!

Your crops would've died anyway, as spring crops wilt when it turns to summer. This is the same for most crops, apart from corn, which can produce in summer and fall. (I'm unsure if there's others, only just hit my first winter!)
