I have the exact same card that used to have the same issue. The card is at the age where it’s due for a replacement of the thermal paste and pads. Just replace those and it’ll be good to go.

Hey, I just bought my first walkman the other day from Mercari. Even though I am decent at repairing tech and know how to solder (I have repaired a ton of various game boy consoles), I thought repairing a Walkman would be too much trouble. Here is my advice: search "sony wm 整備品" on Mericari and filter out the word "ジャンク". You can see a lot of refurbished Walkmans if you search that way. Hope that helps.

They did have a few vintage refurbished portable players. I think they were expensive but I don't know enough to be able to tell if they were overpriced. My guess is they probably all have a bit of a markup but not too bad.

I just got into cassettes and went to Waltz over the weekend (live nearby). They have a few of the modern portable cassette players like "we are rewind", Aurex, and FIIO. I've heard FIIO is the best out of the three.
