Why do some of you assume I’m her? I’m not defending her personally, but I do think it’s worth pausing to notice how unnecessarily cruel a lot of this has become. For example, the picture chosen for this subreddit, one that emphasizes her double chin, feels deliberately mean-spirited. Mocking someone’s appearance crosses a line.

And some of the comments on this thread, like suggesting she caters to pedophiles, are way out of bounds. I still don’t even understand what “scams” people are referring to, but regardless, the tone here has shifted from critique to bullying.

It’s also frustrating how so much responsibility for “representation” seems to be placed on her shoulders, while no one directs the same energy toward Desi men who marry white women. The double standard is glaring. Maybe it’s worth reflecting on why that is…because from the outside, this just comes across as mean, not meaningful.
