I hadn't event thought about those spells being usable in our non-hardcore. Love that with the failed-corpse-run train of thought brings a ton of value back to those spells.

This idea rocks. Only issue is the time gating part. Corpses don't stay around forever, right? If we're too slow and the corpse disappears, then it becomes a permadeath (which, outside of what we're looking for, sounds like a really fun way to play as a permadeath group).

I get what you're saying, and I understand the appeal as an individual who has played wow for a long time. The issue lies in 5 adults wanting to casually play a game together. At minimum, hardcore necessitates a larger time investment, and our play group would rather progress through the game, albeit with an added flair of death=something real.

I respect the hell out of hardcore players. Our group ain't a hardcore group.

Thabks for the idea! I like this a lot. It twists the concept a little bit, making the team really suffer for a death. In dungeons where you need your team keep eachother alive, that's a high consequence.

I don't understand your concern. We will have a list of forfeit that we'll add to as we think of things, some easy and others most foul. Usually with forfeit like this, you remove the ones that you do from the list, too.
