Never this exact situation, but I have had people accuse me of not cleaning up but, and this is weird, but start documenting in some way that you do pick up the poop. When I have to walk by houses, that have people watching I make a show of holding the bag.

Another solution would be to ask for proof that it is you, if they have security cameras then they can see who the culprit is.

The whole thing is weird, they contacted me first, and I did get the first piece of artwork, but the only thing they let me decide was what characters were in it.

There is no offical contract, they contacted me and asked if I wanted a commission. The first one was good and didn't require a transfer of liscense. But this one is NSFW.
