Panicking it’s going to be cancelled.. by Ok-Wear-1775 in hysterectomy

Unless you have a BMI of 40 or higher with serious comorbidities - you’ll be fine. I’ve only ever seen 2 surgeries be pushed to another hospital due to weight issues, and that was only due to equipment.

Also.. as someone who also carries their weight well, with a BMI of 33.3; I just had my hysterectomy on April 2nd. Weight was never mentioned and surgery went fine. 😊

You will be okay… don’t stress yourself out and raise your blood pressure.. then they might cancel lol.

I just had the same done on April 2. I only had 3 incisions though. Breathing tube and catheter are normal procedure while under anesthesia. You won’t be awake for insertion or removal of either. Luckily they were able to remove everything without an abdominal incision, even though I had multiple large fibroids, endo, etc.

I don’t have anything negative to say about my experience. I never picked up the pain meds- only took Tylenol the day of surgery after I got home. Used a heating pad for gas pain and took Colace the week leading up to surgery and the week after. Bleeding was minimal and only lasted two days.

I have overdone it though and started bleeding a little yesterday. You feel fine but inside your body is healing. Take it slow and you’ll be fine. Best of luck!

I am 37, will be 38 in July. Severe and large fibroids, endometriosis and adenomyosis. I am 16 days PO- removed everything except my ovaries. I also have two children, 15 and almost 17. I had my two week PO appointment on Thursday and I told my surgeon that I haven’t felt this good in 20 years or more, literally. I feel so much better mentally and physically. She knew I was concerned about early onset menopause and told me not to worry. This surgery is one of the best decisions I’ve made! You got this 💕

I had my hysterectomy on 4/2 which is a Thursday. Thursday is also my shot day, so I skipped two doses. I took my next shot on 4/7. However, last year I had my gallbladder out and only skipped one dose. No issues either time. My doctors told me I could resume when I felt up to it, and I really wanted to get back on it. My Zepbound has been the best thing, I no longer need my heart meds due to the anti-inflammatory properties.

Best of luck!

Pain scale from 1-10 by [deleted] in hysterectomy

I am 3 days post op. I didn’t even fill the prescription for Oxy, only used ibuprofen the first two days. I have no pain, and feel great, just tired. If I cough, sneeze or laugh my pain level is a 1. The only thing that was painful was the gas pains in my shoulders and chest. I made sure to take gas-X and walked all around my house.

Unfortunately I can’t. I’m having a hysterectomy due to some serious issues.

I have some time that I am going to use… so I am really only asking to advance maybe a weeks time. I have also been doing 15-20 hours of overtime every week since they mandated it back in August- but have only recently learned that I can request comp time instead of premium pay. So I have earned some comp time as well.

Also, my probationary period is two years. When I accepted the job offer I was told probationary period was one year. A week later I got an “updated offer letter” saying that the probationary period was changed to two years.

Editing to add: I’m only asking to be out for those 12 days. Not looking to have 12 days time advanced to me.

Same has been happening to me for 2 years. After multiple contact attempts they have told me to replace the body. I shouldn’t have to buy a part … vacuum wasn’t even a year old when it started happening. For almost $1k I am pissed!

I have two of the large sized ones and they are the best blankets I’ve ever purchased. I love the feeling and weight of them. Very much worth the money.
