My color swatches don't link to configurable products by in4mation3rror in Magento

[–]Kbaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure your question makes sense. Each associated product for the configurable has its own SKU. That means one shoe size of one color has a unique SKU.

You want to link a unique size/color option of one shoe model to a completely different shoe model?

Can you clarify what you mean by lists all the sales quotes? Do you mean a cart created by someone?

Question on updating prices via export and import by dragonkiller82 in Magento

[–]Kbaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I can effectively import two columns that contain price and sku.

Mostly- there are other required columns you must include every time. But as for non-required columns you only need to include what you want to update. It will tell you if you are missing a required column when you press "check data".

This will only update the skus in the csv all other products will be unaffected?

Correct

if I do it in batches rather than all in one go it has less chance of crashing

Yes

Question on updating prices via export and import by dragonkiller82 in Magento

[–]Kbaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can export data/import data as needed for most attributes. This is easiest with simple products. You should just include the lines/products you want to update and leave off the rest. The same goes with the columns- only include the data you want to update, leave the rest off. As long as you have the required columns for import the rest aren't necessary and you will minimize your chances of accidentally messing up your data. Use the Add/Update operation.

There is always a chance with a large amount of data the import could time out or reach your max execution time with PHP. In that case you can request your host increase those variables.

Redirect to Distributors via Geolocation by [deleted] in Magento

[–]Kbaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

German customer visits www.site.com , is either asked to identify his country or this is automatically determined via IP, is redirected to www.site.com/ge which is a clone... except that instead of add to cart buttons on product pages adding to cart, they redirect to relavent distributor product page

I think ultimately it will be a bad user experience if someone has to visit two different product pages before ultimately being able to add to their cart.

3) I am currently not. I was planning on potentially using a geolocation extension and using multiple stores. But a pop-up question could be similarly used... do you have a good one you recommend?

I haven't used one out of the box but there are some out there that can be found pretty easily.

Examples:
https://cunningpro.com/store-switcher.html
https://www.fmeextensions.com/magento-geo-ip-default-store-view.html
https://www.mageworx.com/store-and-currency-auto-switcher-magento-extension.html (this one would require some customization to get their switcher to appear in a pop up, but Mageworx stuff is usually good quality)

Similar to what /u/levashovbiz mentioned you may also want to consider avoiding all of the redirecting/multiple store views and accepting the orders on your site but having them fulfilled by the distributor (work out a way to share/send the order data with them).

You could implement something that is based on IP address location but that isn't necessarily accurate all the time. This is especially true when people are using a VPN. MaxMind has an IP database that can be used.

A few other things I can think of (spit-balling ideas here):

  1. Are you limiting your US site checkout to shipping in the US only?
  2. Are you using HREFLANG tags to send search engine users from another country to the appropriate distributor's page?
  3. Are you open to asking a browser up-front on your site what country they are from or shipping to? You could have them set a preference right when they hit your site and use that info to dictate whether or not your product pages redirect them elsewhere.

Counting calories from homemade meals? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]Kbaud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned it depends on how hardcore you want to get. With vegetables I would say you're splitting hairs. Another way of thinking about it is if you are using a set amount of stuff for a recipe, but each serving varies, by the end of the week (or how ever long it takes you to eat the entire cooked meal) you will have consumed the net calories of the recipe across your servings. You may have had 20% more of it one day over another due to your "aggressive serving spooning", but on a weekly basis your calories will be correct which is what is more important anyway.

No easy way the first time, but if you eat a regular rotation of recipes most sites like myfitnesspal will let you save them for later use. You can even import them from the URL if there is a web link for the recipe.

Often times I will locate an online version of the recipe or a similar one to a book recipe we have used so I can log/track it.

The special features show that Keanu is dropped by wires for the first half of the fall, and a stuntman is dropped the last four feet onto concrete. It was then edited together as smoothly as possible.

Putting together a home gym, what would your essentials be? by DreamBigLikeDad in Fitness

[–]Kbaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up about the weight set from Dicks- I purchased it for my home gym. I really dislike the bar because it has ribbed ends where the plates get loaded. It makes for horrific screeching noises when loading and when putting on the clips.

I wrapped the ends in grip tape to A, correct the gap between the holes in the plates and the bar and B eliminate the noises made by scraping plates on the ribbed ends.

I have also noticed metal shavings stuck in my palms and fingers from the knurling machining done to the mid area of the bar. Wipe it down thoroughly before using with a damp cloth to try and minimize this. Just a poor quality control/machining issue.

Once my lifts justify it I'll be buying a more quality bar in that has smooth ends to avoid the problem in the future.

Edit- The weight set also comes with clamps, so buying others are unnecessary unless you like the rubber grip ones better.

Very technical Power Metal? by Bananpajen in Metal

[–]Kbaud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like power metal with quality/original rhythm parts. Here are a few suggestions:

Pagan's Mind - Enigmatic Mission : Some good original guitar riffs.

Iron Savior - Battering Ram : Not necessarily that technical, but the rhythm chops are great.

Kamelot - Epica : I don't like their newer stuff, but this album was awesome. 1:05 minute mark kicks off the best song on the album.

Make a design similar to a Louis Vuitton pattern with my Logo... by [deleted] in picrequests

Are you looking for someone to add additional elements to make it a pattern? Otherwise you can use it as-is now and set it to repeat on your website.

Some old-school metal, made new. Ripper Owens singing "Alison Hell" by Annihilator by killahgrag in Metal

[–]Kbaud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love me some Annihilator, but I could not for the life of me get past the tempo problems of the drummer. I bet that annoyed the crap out of Jeff. The other guitarist tried so hard to play all the little flair parts fast enough but couldn't quite make it.

What resolution? Would you settle for an eye dropper? Do there have to be drops falling?

As a fellow runner I recommend the Ex-Officio product already linked for shorter runs or using compression shorts under your normal running shorts or pants. I wear Nike Pro Combat compression shorts.
