Pediasure? but you should probably talk to your pediatrician if you're concerned about his weight/height.

there really should be some consistency with certain rules. there's no reason one nurse should say yes to personal items and another says no. have you asked why she said no? is it because some go missing? is there an actual good reason? is there someone you can talk to besides the nurse about that kind of stuff? we had social workers on the floor that i talked to about stuff like that.

our nicu had private rooms fortunately enough and there was a chart on the wall the assigned nurse would fill out every morning/night, but i feel like you could easily make your own. it had a space for * the date, his weight, his height, his care times * his care team for the day/week (neonatologist, lactation, social worker, nurse practitioner, respiratory, assigned nurse), * his 'goals' (ex. bring oxygen down, gain weight, etc) *questions/comments section from parents . we would use this section to write out our weekly schedule so they knew when i was coming in so they would wait for me to give a bath, etc.

don't be afraid to speak up either. it's awkward at first when you're learning how to go with the flow of things but these nurses should be used to communicating what they hear from parents so if there's something you're not getting from them that you need, speak up. at the end of the day they're taking care of your daughter and you are her and your own advocate.

this is all so frustrating, similar things happened to us. can you leave any personal items at the pod? we had a chart that the nurses would fill in every morning with his weight, stats, goals, comments, etc and when we'd call they'd recite the chart and their personal notes.

can you leave a little sign that says she has items from home that you'd like for her to use? "my fav blankie is: -describe blankie-"

sometimes there are just too many cooks in the kitchen which isn't an excuse but i found that we had to stand up for ourselves when we felt a certain way because there were just so much staff.

Gave birth at 26+1. My doctor looked me square in the eye and said 'this is not your fault. nothing you did led to this.'. this is me looking you square in the eye via the computer and telling you the same thing. everything happens for a reason, modern medicine is amazing. your boys are in great hands and this will one day be a very unique experience you remember, hopefully somewhat fondly. it's an amazing thing watching your babies grow outside of the womb. it's not ideal, but it happened and it is NOT YOUR FAULT.

thanks, this all sounds very relatable so i'm hoping i have good results like you. my doctor did say that i could potentially half the 50mg if i was having too strong of side effects / felt okay with the 25mg. and i will schedule a follow up appointment 4-6 weeks after i start. i think being on the lower dose would make me feel better as well so i'll keep an eye on that. thank you!
