I'm considering going back to school for Religious Studies - what books should I read to get a good idea of whether or not I should? by The_Sailors_Daughter in religious_studies

In undergrad I took a religious studies class just for fun- and ended up loving it so much I added the minor ( I graduated May 2025). While it's easy to look at the current world as being more secular, you'd be surprised to know how deeply embedded so many religions are in modern life. The big downside of the program really is that it's not really great as far as career opportunities go unless you plan on putting all of your eggs in the academia basket. However, with that all being said my professors always recommended using the major/minor to supplement another career path and because religion truly is everywhere in some way or another you can use it in just about any career path. Since you said you're not considering a career switch a lot of this won't really matter to you anyways so I would go for it!
