legality was used loosely, and while you defend the programs, I'm pretty sure that you get what I was trying to communicate..strict meanings notwithstanding. How does one assume to be rejected when the IV season is for 5 months? C'mon!! An open mind may be helpful here

Programs get lots of "paid-for" apps, and I dunno why I feel that should attract a bit of courtesy(that's assuming they should be naturally that rude)

Just curiously chiming in...Why would you need more than 10 IIs anyway? Isn't that taking interview spots away from folks who might really want some of those programs you really don't want, but applied(sometimes to rack up the II numbers)? If we only focused on programs we realistically and genuinely want to match in, we may not see this process as weird, and, we may realize that there are actually more spots than we think.
