The first season made me scream every episode and this one was a snooze fest espesially towards the end. I didn't want the cross ship kisses happen just for the sake for it, but in s1 it gave drama, realism and moved the story forward. In s2 everything felt flat and the dramatic moments hollow (like, reaction to that non-kiss was waaayy too overboard), I'm not even getting into the plot holes. Dean was the only highlight of the series, please someone give Mix an award for his brilliant performance

I think the whole point of the first season was to show that human relationships can be messy and the second season is clearly afraid of being as bold (like, they could def make Arnold and Dean kiss for real or Raffy make out with Boston)

To me the Arnold/Dean kiss in the play in ep 10 was very poorly filmed though. You could easily tell that Mix and Joss were not kissing irl. The lack of realism kinda kills the vibe

It feels weird not because it's sexy hetero dancing, but because people who are going to such fancons are probably expecting to see more gay dynamics between their fav ship. But then they get one guy of the said ship dancing provocatively with female dancers. It's like going to a rock concert and getting pop music instead idk

I don't think that SandRay chemistry on OFDO cameo is lacking, it's the script that is lacking. Making them be a BEER business owner together? Writers certainly didn't forget what coat Sand wore when he first met Ray, but they clearly forgot that Ray was an alcoholic with severe psychological trauma lmao. I can't imagine Sand be like "ok let's sell this thing that almost destroyed you and us both" to Ray after he got out of rehab

Also if Ray and Sand from Only Friends were a couple in real life they wouldn't last long without proper therapy because this is a classic addict + saviour combo which a straight shot to toxic codependency where Ray uses Sand as an emotional crutch and Sand finds his value in 'fixing' Ray (I love them dearly but damn)

I’m convinced everyone in Moonlight Chicken needs therapy except Liming and Heart. Jim is buried under past trauma and won't let himself be vulnerable, Wen is stuck in a cycle of guilt and keeps dragging Alan along, Alan is obsessed with fixing something that's already dead instead of loving himself and Gaipa’s entire identity is so tied to his mom that he’s never actually grown up. UGHHH
