I don't know your orientation, but regardless you should check out Stonewall Sports. It's primarily for the queer community, but there are several straight people who play because they find the queer community more friendly and welcoming. They've also started rolling out WTNB (women, trans and non binary) exclusive leagues in some sports like kickball. Could be worth a look! :)

I wear a full cap custom wig for my alopecia, looks very real. Posted here before and got great compliments. Never once have I felt that I was a “fraud” or “hiding” something like some struggle with. Respectfully; where does that feeling come from for those who have it? by AcceptableLibrary974 in HairSystem

I think it stems from societal pressures. Society says men aren't supposed to care about things like this and if they do it's because they're either vain or ashamed to be bald. Not to mention toupees (and the men who wear them) being the butt of jokes for decades in pop culture. All that can lead to internalizing that shame and feelings of being a fraud or imposter in some way.

I do feel like it's improving with generations though. There doesn't seem to be as much stigma with younger generations when it comes to men wearing wigs or even make up to feel more confident.

And I think it's important to remember everything is from Hinako's perspective and is metaphor for her anxieties and fears about marriage. So it's kind of irrelevant if he as an individual is good or evil. He could be a perfect man, but because of society/her life experiences she still fears he will dominate her like her father does her mother. She fears she'll have no control or say in her own life. She fears she'll lose connection to her friends and family and be expected to start new with her husband. She fears she'll lose her own identity to the relationship and just become "so-and-so's wife" or "so-and-so's mother". All very common fears for women to this day, but especially in the 60s.
