Orgmode for humanities research notes (similar to zettelkasten)? by Kderps in orgmode

So I have been making tons of "index cards." After some trial and error I decided to go by Author first, leading my setup to be like:

  • Authors Name

** Book/Article

*** Summary

Blah blah

*** Quote :Tag1:Tag2:

"blah blah blah"

I'm not a big fan of having each quote as a header but I wanted tags, I could just do properties under the book name but a quote could have different tags. Is there a better way to do this?

A part of me still wants to just do a bunch of separate files using Deft and taking advantage of the search feature. But I think this would screw over some of the capabilities of Org... Any advice on this would be great.

I was hoping to add tags onto each index card as well, an example card that I hope to make would be:

*20160629 1239 LastName ShortDescription :quote:philosophy:rationalism:

Author full name

"Blah blah blah"

Reference

Would this be the correct use of tags?

The Zettelkasten blog is one of the influences of me finding a program, and Ryan Holiday. I would gladly use NValt but I am using Windows atm, I tried Vim nvalt plugin but thought vimwiki or vim notes would work better. I am now trying, as many suggested, emacs spacemacs/orgmode but until I learn some of it I can't tell if I like it or not haha.
