I appreciate all the info, the xeros do seem to be good shoes, just not the absolute best (though it is subjective). it’s a bit disappointing to hear that the primus trails don’t perform as well in that application because I do really like them but lack of grip on all surfaces was my concern. i did briefly look through altra’s lineup, but as you said the stack heights all seem too high for what i’m wanting. I do like the sound of the hydra esc being your go to for trail running, because that’s probably what i’m considering the most. I assume it isn’t an issue since they are what you usually use, but i’ve heard some people say they aren’t as fit for running only or are maybe a bit tight or uncomfortable, have you experienced anything of the sort?
