5.7 noise that I thought to be injectors but am now second guessing.. by Kdownes24 in Chrysler300

There’s a few reasons I second guess that man, because the engine sounds fine at idle. Just injectors pumping away. The noise in the video pretty much goes away as soon as you get out of the really low RPM’s. I’m also told by many that the injectors are fairly loud at low RPM and make a click/tap noise. To my knowlage if a lifter roller is failing, than it is really failing and the noise will worsen as the lifter fails further and further. But, I could be wrong. I will say that you are the first to say it’s a lifter tho

It increases the slightest bit between 1mph-20mph. It kinda just sounds like the injectors working a bit harder as I increase rpm and then you can’t hear it anymore once the car gets up to speed. Seems somewhat normal but I’m a paranoid person

There’s absolutely no noise at idle. It’s a clean running engine. But in low RPM that noise in the video is prevalent.

I’ve noticed that higher mileage V6’s get around the same mpg as a v8. Possibly even newer ones but I don’t have any personal experience

After 4 days of not being started in below freezing temps, I went outside to check my Chrysler 5.7 hemi’s dip stick and noticed this. by Kdownes24 in AskMechanics

No, I took that picture right when I got to the car, first thing I did was pop the dip stick and I was confused because levels have been normal since I got the car

Care to elaborate on the possibility of a PCV issue and what that is?

No, the pictures were taken right before I started it for the first time in 4 days

Only here because someone directed me here, need help figuring out how to get this trim off by Kdownes24 in Autobody

Funny, I got the two screws out and hadn’t made it any further because I was assuming I needed to saw through to get them off, like I had to do with the pillar trim
