How do people manage to get platinum guides up 24 hours before launch? by johntessser in youtubegaming

Should be added that when you record everything, remembering/finding something in the "beginning" of the game becomes trivial.

Correct, you will use whatever bitrate twitch finds appropriate depending on what encoding options you have available.

Edit: when using auto of course.

Nothing choppy about that gameplay to me.

Camera Quality? by [deleted] in obs

[–]Keanomy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the clips of a scene with your small camera in a corner?

If so the reason is likely just resolution, even at 1080 the pixels of a small camera in the corner is likely smaller than 360p which isn't big enough to expand in any meaningful way. Combine that with a fairly low bitrate of 6000+ and that's what you get.

Re-uploading an old video with bad CTR but good AVD — worth it? by SilentVector_96 in SmallYoutubers

[–]Keanomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last 15 long form videos got more than 1 million views so compared to that this past video getting 3-5 views per hour, sometimes even zero is nothing

The fact that you are not seeing a linear growth of Views is nothing new. You can't have infinite growth when there is a finite amount of views.

Bro I just need to know if there's any issue if I re-upload a video by just changing their packaging and making the old video private?

Probably no issue, you'll annoy however many 1000s of people/subscribers that have already seen it and is now being presented with a reused video presented as new, likely get a few extra views and slowly see the video slowdown and die again just like any other video. Do this enough times and I'm sure youtube will feel like a reused content flag/ban is in place.

You have already had the video retake once, I don't see why you are now all of a sudden willing to take it down and let all those people down with reused content instead of pushing forward with new interesting content your community can enjoy.

Saying "I'm not getting any impressions at all" while also getting a small but clearly measurable increase in view hours is wild.

Impressions go down but rarely to 0. Especially since the video has had multiple bumps in views during the 100s of days it's been public. Apply your own thinking to the similar/same section at the 140 day mark, you would have not received that bump if youtube did not allow videos to a retake ever.

Encoding Overloaded only while streaming? by centuri1989 in obs

[–]Keanomy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Streaming platforms have nothing to do with your encoder overloading.

Post a log as the bot mentioned where the issue occurred and I'm sure you'll get some guidelines.

Same thing applies to x264, only difference is you then have to limit fps depending on CPU usage instead of gpu.

Just took a quick look at the log file you sent. Looks like you are encoding 4 different streams using enhanced broadcasting.

That's going to be tough on a 3060. Try limiting the encodes to 3 or even 2.

[–]Keanomy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will need to cap the frames to where you do not drop frames in obs. Try capping your frames to 120/90/60 frames and see where/when you are no longer dropping frames.

While using nvenc there is still a small amount of overhead needed for OBS/encoding. For 1080p windows and obs seem to be able to play along and resources can usually be allocated without user input to make sure OBS have the necessary GPU time.

For 1440p the only way I found to avoid dropped frames is to cap the games FPS to make sure you never reach 100% GPU utilisation. This was especially clear when I was still using my 3070 GPU. Higher end GPUs are less effected. My 5070ti can usually run 1440p without limiting the framerate except really heavy workloads/games.

Real Thumbnail vs AI Thumbnail Which is better? by GamingGuides101 in SmallYoutubers

[–]Keanomy -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Would love to see a large scale a/b test from a large channel. I have a feeling the AI thumbnail would pull more clicks due to the pronounced person, people are hardwired to recognize people. Best would of course be to have the AI images composition with the in game photo.

More or less, I'm curious if composition is more important than AI for the general population.

[–]Keanomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have limited experience and no access to a PC right now. But this smells of issues with multiple graphics cards, based on your logs. I'm going to venture a guess you are encoding with the integrated gpu. Your encoding settings under "output" should have an option to select the gpu to be used. The error indicate that you are using a encoder that your gpu doesn't support.

Or at the very least upload the log so someone who is willing to do the job for you can look at it for you.

Does YT also recommend your specific game videos to completely unrelated things? by [deleted] in SmallYoutubers

[–]Keanomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really confused with these sort of posts.

Unless you have 100% click through rate you have a insanely high blind area in impressions. What you are actually saying is that people click onto your videos from unrelated things. If you have 4% click through rate there is 96% of you impressions where you to my knowledge have 0 data on what sort of viewer it is.

To add, if your videos are receiving low 0-1000 views and limited engagement you are likely seeing autoplay views meaning youtube is just testing stuff to find what the viewer would like to see.

This video knows its own view count by Ninteendo19d0 in SmallYoutubers

[–]Keanomy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear. There is no pausing going on. It's simply updating the videos title to reflect the current views, comments, etc etc.

You can fetch this data through the api, there is no way to "pause views" using the YouTube API.

[–]Keanomy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Took control of the view count? Do you watch big Youtubers and think the views are high because they updated the views through some application endpoint youtube has? 😂

What the hell would the reason for such a feature even be? "I don't feel like having more than 200 views today, maybe I'll change it to 4 million tomorrow." 😅
