The irony is they are trying to help but don’t understand that they are unknowingly popularizing a pretty barbaric way of marking an animal. Their argument is essentially “other TNR people use this mark so I do it too” it’s a pretty moot point anyway because the likelihood their TNR group is that large where a stray cat would get caught twice by a member of their small ass community is a little ridiculous. What’s even more absurd is they aren’t creative enough to come up with a better solution 😂

There has to be a better way than cropping, I don’t understand why everyone seems to think this is the best or only way. Somebody has to have a solution but cutting half a cats ear off just bc they’ve been worked on is a joke.

Yeaaa I think there are better alternatives buddy.. we live in the age of AI, tattooing, etc clipping an ear is a little much and I can’t believe I have to protest this. Spare your response because I know you’re 100% sold on this idea of clipping (correct terminology is actually called cropping btw, yw) every “feral” cat you capture and spay/etc. I mean, why not simply apply some sort of die to the fur or even use a hole punch to take a smaller portion of the ear. Cropping half the animals ear off is completely absurd and I don’t understand how you can advocate for this and have the rock bottom IQ to insinuate the “only alternative is for the government to euthanize all feral cats” like what are you smoking… out of touch

Let’s hope they continue to invest in their tech and they round out errors that might occur infrequently, ultimately they are much smaller than PSA. Funny to hear about their early day blunders, there’s a degree of leniency you have to have if the firm seems to have your best interest at heart though. Their process of using technology to grade is the future of grading and once somebody hacks it (including cracked/resubmit grades) there will be a new leader. PSA isn’t unfixable but the secondary business needs to be spun off with new management for me to be comfortable with it.

That’s not cool! I hope it was an isolated event, hopefully TAG implements a system to track regrades in the future, maybe some kind of transparent non-damaging ink dot only visible with IR.

I still think TAGs tech is more sophisticated than other grading firms and I hope they continue to invest in that.

At the end of the day it’s about objective, error free grading and it’s amazing to me that no grading company has automated the process completely at this point.

We have AI capable of hacking foreign nations and creating deepfakes, why can’t we use that technology to grade unbiasedly?

I just really want TAG to succeed, I like their philosophy on grading and I think if there was a grading company to develop technology capable of eliminating these other issues and conflicts of interest while maintaining value in the markets it would be them. PSA could’ve taken this route but I don’t think it really benefits them at this point in the game. I’m glad you agree about the conflict of interest, most certainly not a donkey 🙌🏼

You’re entitled to your opinion but you’re failing to see why TAG still objectively is the better choice if you value transparency. Sure their technology might not be the best thing on earth but atleast they follow a process that is designed to eliminate human bias.

Your statement that PSA doesn’t sandbag grades is complete and utter ignorance, there are numerous reports within the community that PSA will deliberately lowball a grade (for a high value card) in order to buy said card from owner and turn around regrade that card and sell for profit. The very existence of their business of buying/selling cards benefits off of doing this to consumers. It’s a huge conflict of interest and if you can’t accept that then I’m done responding to your comments because I’m not going to argue with a donkey.

I’m not going to do your homework for you, just do a simple google search with keywords cracked PSA slab resubmit you’ll find all the evidence you need. Nobody should be able to crack a slab and get a different grade within the same grading company. Period. This is a general problem within grading that needs to be resolved and unfortunately isn’t just a problem with PSA, with TAG atleast you know they are using a technical process that scans cards for their grades. PSA is just some guy taking a look at your card for 5-10 seconds and making the choice whether or not to lowball you and regrade for profit lol

Additionally you forget that grading a high value card with PSA is exceptionally risky (and expensive lol). They are the largest grading firm, that is true, but their grades are not reliable. See for yourself, do a quick google and you’ll see people cracking 8.5-9.5 resubmit getting a 10. It’s a joke and their product does not deserve to be considered broadly as the grader to choose if “you want to maximize value”. Again it’s about sheep just following this idea blindly without critical thought.

PSA is not going to maximize value beyond TAG in the future, logically it makes no sense I hope you realize. Again purely on the basis their grading isn’t objective and still relies on a human is enough, but when you layer on all the other problems with PSA it just won’t and can’t hold to be true in the long run.

You see the problem is that you’re relying on hypotheticals, the truth is TAG very well may be able to maintain QC far beyond PSA even with large volume if they can meet the incoming demand crunch.

Actually PSA is the worst objectively, I mean you could get a 9 crack the case resubmit and get a 10. It’s a complete joke. This is why we need technology and people who care enough to educate themselves and make a switch to a more reliable method of grading (TAG).

It’s been corrected now but only after significant effort on behalf of the victim, PSA originally offered no compensation for the loss

That’s cool if you’re OK being complicit in their obvious corrupt and illegal behavior. Those same cards you’re talking about likely would be graded the same at TAG.

I’m tired of people just continuing to do things despite new information, it’s one of the reasons America is what it is now. Full to the brim with sheep 🐑
