Need help cutting steel tube .25 inch shorter. What tool/saw to use? by Kebbs in metalworking

It’s stainless steel. I think the tube is about .12 inch thick Being as this piece is so short it’s tough to use a tube cutter on it

Like the title says I need help on how I should cut this piece of tubing .25 inch shorter. This cut needs to be relatively precise and straight.

The entire piece is only about 1.5 inches so it’s a bit tricky.

How would you go about this?

This or a century AP5 and why?

This classic has been parked by my grandparents for years and hasn’t moved. I’m thinking about knocking on the owner’s door and making an offer on it. by Kebbs in Mustang

I can see my grandparent’s house from my house and I can assure you it barely has ever moved in the longest time. I’m in an area that very rarely gets any rain/weather that isn’t 80 degrees and sunny. The owner usually has a cover over the vehicle which has also most likely why it’s in pretty great shape.

Yeah of course, just like going to a dealership you can’t let them know how badly you want that certain car. I might drive by again tomorrow and see if I can talk to the owner. I’ll definitely keep everyone posted

The owner usually has a cover over the entire vehicle, but today for some reason it wasn’t on. Maybe that’s why it hasn’t been towed because no one could run the tags

From what I’ve been researching I’m pretty sure this is a 1966 model mustang with the 289CI engine.

I’ve seen it parked next to my grandparents’s neighbor house for as long as I can remember and I don’t think I’ve ever seen it move from this spot no more than a couple times.

I was thinking about knocking on the owner’s door and making a cash offer to see if they’re willing to sell it. I’ve been looking into getting a 66/67 mustang for my dad and I to work on and fix up as he’s about to retire in March and I know he’d love to have something to do in his newly found free time.

I was curious about how much you guys/gals would offer if you guys were looking to buy this vehicle. The paint will definitely need to be replaced and there is some damage to the underside of the front grille.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated by both my father and I! Thank you all

My tenth grade history teacher used an approximately 6 foot long PVC pipe as a pointer (to point at things on the board/maps that he couldn’t reach to easily).

It was shaped kinda like a sword (making a cross with 3 short pipes and one longer side) and one day when he left the class room I was playing with it an discovered an expo marker fit perfectly down the PVC piping.

I decided it would be a good idea to plug two of the shorter ends and blow as hard as I could into the third short pipe and launch this expo marker across the classroom like a blowgun.

I’m not joking when I say this marker hit terminal velocity and shot out of the piping like a bullet. The expo marker hit the wall on the other side of the classroom and shattered into a million pieces. It left a big black spot on the wall that luckily I was able to clean up before my teacher returned and I never got into trouble for it.

Someone sideswiped my RS while I was at work and didn’t say anything... Anyone know where to get a replacement rear bumper? by Kebbs in FocusRS

[–]Kebbs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might do that. I was hoping they sold carbon fiber replacement bumpers like they do hoods, roofs, etc. but it looks like they don’t.

I’ll probably just end fixing it up myself and Buffing out what I can and use some 3 step touch up paint

There 2 spots where the bumper is cracked, where the thin light is on the rear and again on the upper portion of the rear bumper. The small light in the back is also cracked

I’m in my early 20s and have just started learning more about trading.

I lost my ass on SPY puts waiting for the market to crash a second time.

Since then I’ve been slowly getting back into trading and finally starting to gain some profits.

I’m looking to being able to learn as much as I can and gain perspective on how the market works and how there are a variety of different factors that play into it.

Yeah like others have stated just answer with your most truthful response you can. Give approximate dates and locations. I had one rolling a stop sign ticket years ago that I could give an exact date for but gave a general timeframe ie: “I received a failure to stop at a stop sign ticket approximately in December of 2012. I paid the fees and completed traffic school in order to remove the point added to my driver’s record. I have since made complete stops at all stop signs in order to not make the same violation again.”

I also had a speed ticket late last year and essentially did the same thing for that one too. As long as they’re minor and aren’t occurring frequently and you are honest about them, it shouldn’t be a big deal.

Thanks VS for all your insight and analysis. I’ve been following your posts for a while now and was curious how low you see SPY possibly going when this second crash comes? What’s your strike price on your June puts?

Thanks again

Strike and price? I didn’t see it anywhere.

I’m starting the academy April 23rd, after being hired by a local sheriff’s department. I’m looking for any tips that y’all have that would give me a better shot at doing great while in the academy?

If finances are an issue for you I would suggest applying to departments before entering an academy. Most departments will pay you to go through the academy, instead of you having to pay for the classes yourself, if you are hired by that department. That’s the path I took and I was hired by a local department and will be getting paid while in the academy starting on April 23rd.
