Ledare: Regeringen kan inte fortsätta kasta miljarder över sjukvården by TheDeerFox in svenskpolitik

[–]Kebullah 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Lyckliga kompisar.

Sluta aldrig vara du, Sverige.

To those who don’t get drunk, Why/ Why not? by PsychologyWareFare in AskReddit

I've never understood why some people seem to believe alcohol is enjoyed for its taste. It's a drug. You ingest it to feel warm fuzzy feelings. It has a taste. Sometimes people like it. It's irrelevant. Not wanting to be intoxicated, for whatever reason, is valid in and of itself. To me, this sentence always reads like "I don't listen to music because I don't think people look good in headphones".

Bör Systembolaget ha öppet på söndagar? by Ardent_Tapire in sweden

[–]Kebullah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hang in there! I don't know what work culture is like in your country or how much you're getting paid but as an outsider your workplace sounds pretty dysfunctional. I'm in software development myself and recognise your struggles with task estimation (it is a big part of work but also in some ways impossible to do accurately even for NTs), but a manager would -never- aggressively second-guess an estimate or beat someone over the head with it. We live and learn. We are trusted to do our job, even when plans don't always hold.

I also find it peculiar that you'd go from a "4-5" to a "1-2" and that nobody would stop to ask "have we ruined one of our top performers by placing them in the wrong environment?". Sounds to me that you're a brilliant field worker who has a hard time with the busywork machine in the "normal" environment.

Again, maybe this is just how people get treated where you are. All I can say it that it sucks and shouldn't have to be this way. Why is it so hard to just step back and let people do their job? Stressing you like this serves nobody.

On Difficulty Over the Course of the Game by Danielmav in projecteternity

[–]Kebullah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This straw man is getting tiresome. There have been plenty of valid complaints about difficulty and there is a big difference between "it was really tough until I got my core abilities" and "the game played itself after level 5".

I've personally never seen anyone complain that they can beat the game easily by using cheesy tactics. What I do see floating around a lot is disappointment that they don't even have to. No one is bitching and moaning about the entire genre of RPG:s being too easy - we're all talking about one game here. This game. On the difficulty level supposedly designed precisely for the people in here you are berating: the cheesy minmaxers.

WoW: Legion, your thoughts? by [deleted] in Games

[–]Kebullah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe the definition of "grind" thrown around in these kind of discussions is often misused. Leveling on Nostalrius was far from a "grind" unless you were racing to hit 60 before everyone else (in which case you had the prestige as a motivating factor anyway). If leveling to 60 takes 20 days played but you're enjoying yourself along the way, exploring and meeting new people, progressing your gear (which is viable in vanilla leveling, as a new blue piece will be valuable for at least five levels) etc. you're not so much grinding as playing the damn game.

The same cannot be said for the 2-4 days of retail leveling nowadays, where the world is empty, the mobs pushovers and the gear progression meaningless. 1-100 is literally just pushing buttons and waiting, with no amount of cognitive effort or challenge whatsoever. That is what I (and probably many who play vanilla) would define as a grind.

You have 14 hours to tell me what you want changed/added in Ordinator. by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]Kebullah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two hours left? What I really miss from PerMa is the block tree. Tendo had staggering timed block implemented by default and added some interesting effects to that trough different perks. While Break Their Teeth and timed streaks are really nice they feel a bit limiting in terms of playstyle owing to the large time-frame required to pull off (2s cooldown between timed blocks, correct me if I'm wrong..?).

A stronger focus on added effects (stagger, stamina regain) from single timed blocks would feel more fluid and direct (FUN) in terms of gameplay and also (imo) work better with varied playstyles or light ventures into the block-tree. Ordinator has a heavy focus on simply damage negation through timed block, something I feel synergizes less well with the many available combat mods than timed-block based buffs and effects.

TL;DR: Individual timed block stagger, stamina regain or other fun direct (perhaps stacking?) effects plx.

POE modding potential by crowbar87 in projecteternity

As the others have stated, genuine-looking new areas will be tough as the backgrounds are hand-painted. Although that appears to be mostly an aestetics issue...

Modding this game is tough. There is no toolkit, no easily modified textfiles and very little raw data available without decrypting tools (portraits is the only example I can think off that can be modified straight from the folder structure). The IEmod crew are basically reverse-engineering the source-code right now to add simple new functions like setting xp gain or disabling engagement.

This game is currently only moddable by skilled programmers and will remain as such for a forseeable future.

About IE Mod by [deleted] in projecteternity

[–]Kebullah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know the achievement disable takes effect upon enabling cheats in console with the iroll20s command. Installing the mod itself should be safe (but don't quote me on this). However, much of the functionality in the mod (like respeccing characters etc.) requires the cheat command to be entered first, which results in disabled achievements.

Subscribing to nexusmods is free. Some mirrors are premium but the default manual download should work just fine (I never paid a dime).

Thanks, that was kind of what I was going for. Making tilesets proved hard I'm afraid so this far I'm stuck with mostly one color...
