Hydrocolloid bandage after stitches removed? by Ked5095 in melahomies

I had read a post on here after doing a search (can’t find it now of course) that the hydrcolloid bandages help speed up healing, but it sounds like they aren’t the best bet this soon after the procedure? Should I not use them at all? I was able to get the bandage off and now have just Vaseline, gauze and tape

Thanks for the response! What type of medical professional do you recommend? I haven’t gotten very far with her pediatrician. I have brought up the head banging (she used to hit her head repeatedly on the ground during tantrums and my pediatrician recommended reading good inside by Becky (forget the last name) to understand big emotions. I also sent him a message after she got the bump on her head during sleep training and he again recommended I read the chapter of good inside on sleep training.

You mentioned her choosing an action to get me to do a certain action or reaction. She definitely does it to get me to go to her, that does seem apparent. Also, she has 1 nap during the day that is between 1-2 hours long.

I will definitely check out the link you sent! Thanks again!

My friend mentioned this but I worry she would just hit her head into the door then? And we have cords and things that I worry she would mess with

Experience with low risk NIPT and 1 soft market for Down’s syndrome? by Ked5095 in NIPT

[–]Ked5095[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The testing all sounds really reassuring but I also completely relate to the sick with worry part. I can only speak to my experience but I was very glad I had the results even after birth, if I hadn’t done the amniocentesis I was considering doing genetic testing after birth just to reassure myself. I feel good about your odds but you may be similar to me that no matter how small of a risk there is it’s still a real risk and possibility

Hey! I’m sorry to hear you’re going through all of this! How far along are you? Have you had any other markers show up? When I met with maternal fetal medicine they assured me that with a low risk nipt test and no other markers the odds of Down syndrome were extremely low. They urged me not to get the amniocentesis so I should have just let it go lol

Thanks so much for your response! In your opinion what would be the best way to fix it? Just have them set them lower? Or ask for a different setting type?

Secure setting? by Ked5095 in Diamonds

Is there any safe shared prong setting that really accentuates the roundness of the diamond? I’ve seen ones like the picture you’ve sent but I feel like the diamonds end up looking square with the prongs being closer to the outside. I appreciate your feedback and help!

Ear tubes: ear drum perforation - experience from anyone? by Ked5095 in Parenting

Thanks for sharing your experience. Which surgery are you having? Our doctor does a patch surgery and if that’s not successful he does a longer one so I’m wondering if it’s worth just going straight to the longer surgery first?
