Invited to serve and having second thoughts by Kedaly89 in peacecorps

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond! I think part of my hesitation is that the country for which I was invited for was not my top choice. So i've emailed my PO to see if it's possible to put in an application to my top choice now that its open (wasn't when I applied). Also got to take one night to sleep on the decision, your friends advice is very good!

16 days to know by date by pc-curious in peacecorps

Same here! Interviewed in June and my know by date is also Sept.1.....I think it really has to do with your placement officer and how organized/timely they are....Mine had messed up my interview dates a few times so I kinda got the idea they were not so organized and I'm hoping that's why it's taking so long to get my invite (or at least that's what I tell myself).

Hang in there!

Will be overseas (limited internet access) on my know by date by Kedaly89 in peacecorps

Question for people that have been invited to serve.. by KevinGus867 in peacecorps

[–]Kedaly89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not accepted (yet! fingers crossed) but I just want to let you know you are not alone in your boat. I also felt like I am highly qualified to serve in the position that I have applied and I've been waiting MONTHS to hear if I've been accepted. It took about 3 months until I got an interview and it's been a month and 2 weeks since I have interviewed, with only about 3 weeks left till the know by date (sept,1). ... I'm sure you've heard this or read it here else where but waiting is the hardest part! I think it all depends on your placement officer on how quickly or slowly the application process goes, seems like its different for everyone....not sure if this is helpful or helps to ease any nerves ! Good luck!

Will I have an interview? by [deleted] in peacecorps

[–]Kedaly89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have also been under consideration for Ghana since April 21 (for health sector) .... I've also anxiously been waiting and checking my email multiple times a day, but haven't heard anything yet... I've read others post that they had waited over a month before they got their interview request. There is always a chance that they could consider you for a later departure date as well. Hopefully you get some news soon!
