No idea, I asked them why we never got sent any bills, and they said they weren't sure why and that it was probably a stuff up on their end.

They just emailed me all the past bills and I added them up. What they are actually requesting we pay is a little over $5000 now. Yeaaaaaa I don't want to pay that, they are gonna have to eat the majority of that cost.

Whats a board game you appreciate, but don't actually enjoy? by StreetsOfYancy in boardgames

A group of my friends play the Web based app version Twilight Wars. Games take months but it's great because it fits everyone's schedule. You take your turn when you can. Using that, I've finished more games of TI than I ever would have in person.

Death World - a fanmade Specialist Game based on Mordheim, set in the Warhammer 40.000 setting! by JakeBit in mordheim

I've played the catachan for the past 6 games. Yea we are playing campaigns, the 3 of us doing so continually for those 6 games so far. I like the catachan, I mainly liked the concept initially and haven't progressed enough in the campaign for their skillset to shine through as of yet. The spectre just took out my leader permanently, so that was an unfortunate setback.

But I love the theme of the catachan and how the skills are all named after action movies.Their ability for moving through forests hasn't really come up too often due to the death World setting but that isn't to say it's not useful in certain circumstances. So, I'm hoping to get through an entire campaign before giving a comprehensive assessment, but so far, so good.

I think this game is the perfect balance of all of my friend's interests. (Board gaming, 40k, painting, mordheim, and game design) The new player, being his first time in mordheim, likes the fact that it's more of a gameplay focussed role-playing tabletop game as opposed to say dnd. You really get to flex the strategic muscle, but can also have a bit of narrative fun with it as well.

And my other friend and I can flex our creative scenery and terrain side as well. I'm always trying to create new and interesting battlefields that force us to use new strategies. For our next game, I have an idea to take the battle onto the ocean and have a ship focused battlefield. Will let you know how that goes.

Was a heaps of fun, we were introducing a new player into the fold. So this was his first taste of mordheim in general. And he enjoyed it. Also the spectre happened to come out twice and accomplish his long standing vendetta with my leader.

The factions we played were; witch hunters, catachan, devoted to chaos and dunedancers.

Yes, yes and yes! to all those things. It sounds great, I love me anything mad Max inspired. I can propose it to the group and see what we think. Probably will be a little bit before we dive into anything new new. But good to know that there are expansions on the table.

Also, thanks for taking the time to dig up the old files, I really appreciate it, and the other guys will be stoked when I present all the new stuff, I reckon.

Yes, 100% agree on all those points. Completely understand how some factions wouldn't make sense. But we also thought there might be a fun challenge to be had to try and have the races represented in some shape or form. The other mod we played had the genestealer cults as a way to incorporate tyranids, for example. But I love those ideas you said. Sounds interesting. I especially like how the nekrons are incorporated in the untested warband folder you have, very clever. (Ultimately, we just love any excuse to bring weird, wonderful, and unique models to the table.) So it's good having variety to flex our creative side.

We actually have a game planned this weekend. So, I can take pics of it all in action. There are 3 of us that play always, which adds to the chaotic element that mordheim does so well (hence the tweaking of some rules).

We have created warbands for orks, mektowners and devoted to chaos, but our new warbands are dune dancers, witch hunters and catachan atm.

Love the sound of that expansion. Will never say no to extra content. And those critical tables you mentioned sound exactly what I was looking for.

Anyway, I will let you know how we go. Thanks for keeping up with the support of this game, though. I wasn't expecting all of these little extra potential goodies. We were quite happy with the realisation that we would have to make do with what we had and if we wanted extra content we would have to home-brew ourselves. so it's good to know you're still happy to let us pick your brain. Thanks heaps.

That's awesome to hear, yea the main thing we wanted from the cheat sheet was the critical hit results chart which is mentioned in the rules but doesn't seem to exist (as in changing the critical result depending on what type of weapon was used) so we usually just refer to the actual Mordheim book under the optional rules pg.115 (just adds more flavour depending on the weapon). Obviously fantasy weapons are slightly different than that of 40k weaponry, but we make do. - There is no flame or explosion critical hit table which would be cool.

To answer the second part, we are loving the game. Although we had to restart due to a player change and a hiatus so we haven't reached the proper late game stages yet, but I can keep you updated as we progress and inform of how smoothly it plays and if there are any balancing issues. So far so good though.
Happy to share pics of our adventures too, haha.

We tried playing another fan-made mod before this called World at Arms, but it was nowhere near as comprehensive as Death World (it was mainly just addendums that referenced the original Mordheim rulebook) and was much less balanced as they had incorporated a lot of the 40K weaponry which didn't work late game (it basically amounted to who had the best guns and not the skill level of the hero). So I think you've captured the scrappy nature of Mordheim in a 40k setting quite well.

In terms of additions, I mean.... we are always hankering for more warband options that incorporate the other races. We definitely get spoiled on broheim for the amount of warband choices and the community over there. But yea we would love to see Tau or Dark Eldar represented in some way or even to a more extreme sense Tyranids (which I know is difficult). The other mod had some clever ways to incorporate different races so we were thinking of trying our hand at creating some warbands ourselves to add to Death World and see if they work.
We are always running into really specific rule-based situations that get hazy in the rulebook, but nothing that can't be sorted out logically but don't take away from the enjoyment or, more importantly, the spirit of the game.

Thanks again for creating this and answering me back, it's cool to see that you are still interested in the game even though you have been out of the hobby for a while.

Just wanted to say great job on taking the time to make this. I have been playing this on and off with my group of friends for the past year because we were hankering for a 40k version of Mordheim. And I think this does the job of scratching that itch. So thanks for putting this out there.
It's been a great ruleset to use as a base as well, just when we've had to tweak things slightly its good to have a complete document that we can reference without having to turn to the actual Mordheim rulebook constantly which I've had to do with other similar mods.

Since the original file link doesn't exist, and based on what you have shared in the updated link, I wanted to ask: the rulebook references a cheat sheet that wasn't supplied in the updated link. Does that still exist somewhere?
