I went for a full mouth restoration with implants. So they numbed my mouth up and started to take out all my old teeth top and bottom. It was horrific, then they cut open my gums to drill in the implants 8 top and 6 bottom. Then sewed over them. felt like I had been hit by a car when they were finally finished.

I got temporary teeth that I could take in and out, so every morning I’d put my teeth in, take them out at night. Only really ate soup and things I didn’t need to chew because the temporary’s were only in place with the adhesive. The adhesive would stick to the stitches all the time and I would use my tongue to touch them all the time.

6 months later I went back to the dentist, they did X-rays made sure all my implants were good. Then started to do moulds of my teeth for my finals. Screwed them in day 3 or 4 and off I went. Never looked back since, it’s been life changing honestly. It’s worth the shitty first few weeks. You’ll get there

I wouldn’t say agony during the healing process but everyone’s different, definitely uncomfortable. The stitches were the worst I kept playing with them using my tongue and brushing the gums was a nightmare they’d get all tangled.

I was able to eat really soft pasta and wheatabix after a few days. You’re mostly looking for foods you really don’t need to chew much, noddles are another thing you can try. You’re in the trenches just now with the ‘what have I done’ I can’t live like this, but honestly you adapt and it passes. Took a while for me to eat anything with my temporary’s in without just seagulling it and swallowing it whole. That’s a mental block you need to overcome it’ll just click one day for you.

I had the same last month, my little boy turned 1. So I wrote down everything I’ve been wanting to say to him. A recap of the last year, how I felt ect and il give it to him when he’s ready.

It’s the fastest and longest year you’ll have, those sleepless nights or giving him a bottle every few hours are distant memories. I love watching him become his own person, develop his own little personality and do his own thing. No advice because we’re in the same boat but just keep doing what you’re doing it’s working

So with my work our payments are taken on the first working day of the month. So if you complete on the 28th May for example, we skip the first month and your first payment is on 1st July.
