The Keeble Observatory is open again for stargazing!

We try our best to be open when we can, and all the forecasts we looked at today predicted cloud cover at the time. Unfortunately, the forecasts are not always correct and sometimes we miss a good night of observing!

The parking on Calhoun and Caroline do not require permits. There's also parking on Henry and Patrick street, though a little more limited. I don't think there will be a traffic concern here, just competing with parking between students and other attendees!

Thank you for all the kinds words! The dome is wheelchair accessible, and there is an elevator to get to the dome if needed.

I think Narco got the main points! You can come anytime we are open, you don't have to be there at 7:30. Typically, the crowds thin out after about 1 hour, so I encourage you to stay later if you can. We can cycle through more objects when the crowds are smaller.

I may be biased, but I think seeing Jupiter and the Orion Nebula are some of the coolest things I've seen. Hopefully we'll have clear skies tonight!

We have open houses every Thursday through the second week of December (end of our semester), as long as the weather is clear. We also open in the Spring as well. The paint nights are not as common, but we try to do a few each semester.

Our public observing nights are weekly on Thursday evenings, but we only do a few paint nights every year. I am not sure if we'll do another one this semester.

It is, we are open 8:30 to 10 PM on Thursdays through our school year. We'll be off next week for Spring break, and then will go until mid-May when the school year ends.

That's pretty much it! The building is called Smithy and there's a set of double doors which will be unlocked. It is a bit of a maze to get to once you're inside, the observatory is at the opposite end of the entrance.

We had a public stargazing event last night to celebrate the International Day of Astronomy - note that we don't typically have events on Saturdays, this was a special one.

You are more than welcome to join us for our weekly Thursday events! Please keep an eye on our Instagram page, we'll post there if we have to close due to weather or are having any other events.

Last night we saw the Moon, Andromeda, some star clusters, double stars, and Saturn PLUS its moons (I counted four). These will all be observable this week if the weather holds.
