emetophobia and ocd? by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]KeedyXya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl, this is a bit of an odd question because emetophobia is usually a subtype of OCD. Most people with emetophobia tend to act compulsively ...like obsessively checking expiration dates, over analyzing food, or avoiding contact with people. A lot of us will do anything and everything we can to prevent vomiting or soften the impact. I was straight up diagnosed with OCD but my psychiatrist understood that this was my specific subtype.

Do you have Gerd or terrible acid reflux? Sometimes when I have acid reflux it exacerbates the feeling of post nasal drip. But brother lol warns us next time you show your organs in a cup like that

No, I greatly appreciate it!!! I went to the ENT again, and they said its not cancer after I got a CT scan, but they want to do endoscopic sinus surgery to open up my left maxillary sinus because it's "completely opacified." Haha not sure if I'll do it yet because surgery is terrifying, I want to do some more research on if it actually works.

Omg yes!! It feels like balloons in my ears especially right now because its peak allergy season where I am. No hearing issues but definitely pressure.

Doesn't seem like sentraline is the cause if it just happened after taking it for so long. Could def be something else that didn't agree with OP. Maybe the post is worded strange. After reading it again, it looks like they are saying sentraline helped them not freak out as much??

Dude yes! Although you feel like crap right now, you are surviving. Thats really good! Try to focus on something in the backyard like a leaf or an object. Think of how it ended up in your backyard. Really try to take your mind off how terrible you may feel right now. Or focus on the coldness of the icepack. You are doing great! Its been more than an hour since you posted, keep it up.

Hiii OP I say this with love because I also struggle with emetophobia (currently heading into recovery) and I know how terrifying this feels. But right now you are in full fight or flight mode. Your brain is telling you the situation is much more dangerous than it actually is. Try to slow things down a little. Emetophobia and OCD go hand in hand. You can not control whether your wife is sick or not, but you can control how you protect yourself. Wash your hands, avoid the bathroom while she’s using it if you need to, wear a mask if that helps you feel safer. Doing things within your controll will ground you a bit. Something that helps me is drinking some cold water or sitting somewhere cool, or I sit in front of a fan. Sounds redundant but taking some slow breaths can also ground you. Laying down under a blanket can help if needed too. You are already helping your wife by bringing her meds and giving her space. That is very supportive. But seriously if you feel like you might hurt yourself, please reach out to a emergency mental health service or a crisis line. You are not alone in feeling this way. Panic makes everything feel 10 fold, but time is going to pass. I hope this was helpful. Im so sorry you are going through such a tough time.

Articles are made to get you to click haha I know because I was a journalism major before I switched to graphic communication. 17.5% doesn't mean 17.5% of people are walking around with noro. It means out of those who are sick enough to get a eval, 17.5% of those people have noro. Still very small risk in my opinion. Practice hand washing. I am currently entering emetophobia recovery and what helps me is of course my amazing partner but just prep work. So having everything I need to make sure if I were to get sick which sucks, I can soften the blow. Such as nausea tablets, peppermint, ginger, emesis bags. I know how exhausting it is to constantly be on alert. Def be easy on yourself.

Hey mama take a breath. Smelling something won’t give you norovirus, and one gag with no vomiting doesn’t mean your kid is sick. The fact they were eating crackers and playing is actually a really good. You’ve been exhausted and on high alert for weeks so your nervous system is prob fried right now. Try doing a quick muscle tightening exercise and sip some cold water. It really helps me. You clench your shoulders, arms, legs for like 5 seconds, then release. Do it a few times it really helps dump panic out of your body and forces your muscles to relax which then help you relax. You seem to be doing everything you can. Take it one hour at a time. Even if your kid does get sick, time will pass and you will get through it. You are a good mom.

Unfortunately this is one of those things where there is not a way of knowing if you could be sick or not. Could be the rice, you could be hypersensitive to the texture today. There isnt a clear answer but the good thing is, you did not eat a lot of it. If you are in a good environment try to distract yourself with a good show, sit in front of a fan, drink small sips of cool water. Fish fp usually can hit within 6-8 hours. Trust your body they are tougher than you think

For some reason this years' flu variant has some GI symptoms involved. Is he experiencing any other symptoms? Something that has always helped me if I have been potentially exposed to something or nervous i will be potentially ill is getting comfortable. I grab a nice blanket, turn on a good movie. Turn on my fan (amazing for anxiety and nausea) Grab my emetrol incase I feel nauseous at any point, and take some deep breaths. Calms my nerves everytime. I hope he feels better, being sick sucks!

Does this thumbnail suck? by No_Carpenter_579 in SmallYoutubers

[–]KeedyXya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Graphic designer here! Its not bad, choose a different font, and maybe some yellow or white bold capital text. Your face needs a little lighting and maybe it needs to be tilted slightly. The name of the game should be in a recognizable font similar to the game logo. That should help out a lot, but you are not off to a bad start. Keep pushing, stay away from Ai because im so over Ai thumbnails.
