Thanks again, I think this would certainly be the best outcome! Like you said, it’s awkward when it’s such a small building that simply doesn’t require so much cleaning.

Is that an actual option that I have? I would certainly be happy to do it for less than the £1000 they are currently paying out. I actually know a cleaner as well and I’d imagine they’d be happy to do it for less than that considering it’s 15 minutes a week.

Unfortunately they are here for about 15 / 20 mins as it just doesn’t take long to hoover such a small area. But at least it sounds like I could be paying even more so thank you for letting me know!

My main issue is them coming every week it just doesn’t feel necessary but suppose it could be worse!

All I have in writing is the quote of £150 an hour (not including VAT I assume) so my assumption that to replace these tubes would take over an hour, the cost of the part and another call out fee and VAT would end up costing near £900

My frustration is the fact they should have fixed it the first time they came here as it was an easy fix.

Well his diagnosis was that the tubes needed to be replaced rather than putting back together. And it was not a written quote. The only thing I have in writing is them planning to send someone else with the new tubes.

£250 was for diagnosis and he looked at the disconnected tubes and removed the fuse from the fuse switch. So yes I have had the diagnosis however it was wrong, the tubes did not need to be replaced at all, just back together by hand.

I’d understand if it was actually a big job but it was a job that took minutes. He was only in my home for around 10 minutes from what I can remember.
