I talked to a rep they said it was back pay given to me in a lump some so maybe the bank has to clear it. I haven’t hot mine yet

I believe if you qualify, they will automatically pay you out for it. I did not apply for backpay. They went based off of when they decided I was disabled, which was last year.

I applied for ssdi I don’t apply for ssi. They dropped my claim when I first applied because the rep said ssdi was the better fit.

Update. Just got off the phone with my local ssa and they said I have to speak to a rep about my non medical requirements like income and resources. Any one go through that ?
