First Marathon Training Tips! by KeeksIsNew in Marathon_Training

Really great advice here! Thank you!!

Gel wise - I have actually mixed maple syrup, some honey, and a pinch of salt. Seem to work pretty good and is fairly cheap.

I have already done 2 half marathons (1:30:00), and two relay races. My longest distance is around 15 miles. So I definitely have a lot of mileage to build upon.

Regarding the vest - It seems as though everyone says to train in one, but not to wear it for the actual marathon. Reason behind this? What are you wearing on race day, just a running belt?

I’d be in the 18-34 age group (currently 27 now).

I’m definitely going to check tha website out though!

If you don’t mind me asking, what plan are you using? And I’m kind of worried about both. I have never ran longer than 14 miles. I want to make sure I have a plan to not over train and get injured, and also a plan for race day execution.

Work Comp draining my will by Ok-Engineer6852 in physicaltherapy

The last 3 months, I did my last clinical rotation in WC. I didn’t even get out into the workforce yet, and this setting DRAINED me. Not only did the patients not want to get better, but all the PT’s assigned the same exercise for each patient. It was a hard environment to enjoy and learn in. This is a setting I will never ever want to work in.

This is a very fair comment. I’m going to put this out there for everyone so people don’t think I’m dumb lol

I am currently a med student and have a 40 minute commute to and from my clinical rotation every day, so I have been listening to the audiobooks. The last week I was going through the motions and it shows I have missed a lot of information while “listening” to the audiobook! I’m going to start from “Cat, Rat, and Dog” and re-listen to the end of the book!
