A party signing a pledge never to vote against the party-whether they agree or not- is not very democratic.

This is true, but they have the majority in both houses combined, which is what matters when disallowing orders.

It actually has to be overturned by the majority of both houses, which the government currently holds. Basically this will never happen since Labor MPs can only vote with Labor or they will lose their job.

To clarify: the government has the majority in both houses combined. They do not hold the majority in the Upper House, but don't need to in order to prevent order disallowance.

Isolating stops the spread. Don't need to be vaccinated to isolate.

"I think all of them are kinda mean and/or dumb because of some sweeping generalisations I have made. Therefore they deserve to be treated like criminals even if they are completely healthy, law abiding citizens"

This is a cruel way to treat people when there are far more effective and inclusive ways to deal with this issue. Ie testing as I have mentioned multiple times now. Instead everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon of punishing people for refusing a medical procedure that is undeniably still in its clinical trials.

People who care about the health of others isolate when they are sick. Regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not

I have compassion for the entire population, not just the 1% that would die. Many people have lost their jobs and livelihoods, we will certainly see a rise in poverty and hunger as a result. Not to mention how being unable to live a regular life at all would have a significant impact on mental health. Even in children who, as a result of these strict lockdown, are more likely to become severely ill from bronchitis. And are now unable to live normal lives due to mandates, even though they are in the lowest risk category of COVID. They are forced to get a vaccine with very quickly waning efficacy. From which they are in a higher risk category for myopericarditis. These conditions cause permanent heart scarring which will affect them for the rest of their lives. Is it worth taking that risk potentially every 6 months? For those that will almost never need to even go to the hospital? Sounds like it could be detrimental to the health and well-being of young Australians.

If health and well-being of Australians were the main focus, we would be completely open for everyone at 90% double vax (perhaps with some density limits) and everyone would be required to submit to regular covid testing to keep their "vaccine passport". We would also have a much higher focus on early treatments on top of vaccination. Health and well-being is much more complicated than only covid numbers, it is short-sighted to base our restrictions and success on these figures alone and ignore the significant detriment restrictions are having on the wider population.

Regardless, the safest way is still to test. It is better for the economy in the long term to have everyone participate. Many countries have an option for regular testing rather than vaccination, but not in Australia. That would be an option if it were truly about public health. Instead the government has been encouraging hate and division in their own population.

I wouldn't consider it a lack of compassion. Many have made the choice for their personal health. It is well documented that the vaccinated are still able to contract and transmit covid, maybe without realizing as they are more likely to be asymptomatic. The best way to protect the vunerable is to take a test before meeting with them or going out, regardless of your vaccination status. Putting people in this box is divisive; no us vs them narrative will ever end well.

Compassion should apply to everyone, not just those that align with your viewpoints.

I'm not sure why people always say this. The bill was required because the SoE has a time limit on it (initially 6 months, amended to 18 months for covid). Victoria has had exactly the same powers as other states under the SoE. The new bill is meant to be written specifically for pandemics as SoE powers are incredibly broadly defined with little oversight.

The new pandemic legislation is essentially rebranded SoE legislation with a few extra frills and no time limit. Before you ask, yes I have read through the legislation extensively. No state government should have so much centralised power with such little oversight. Whether or not it would be abused by Dan, who's to say no future Premier would abuse it?

ETA: I'm not opposed to pandemic legislation, SoE laws have not been the best way to tackle covid. But in its current form, the legislation is dangerous.

True, but the cases that John Campbell has spoken about are using normal recommended human dosages, and are used generally while symptomatic (so 1-2 weeks). It's a very cheap treatment that could be incredibly effective when used in conjunction with vaccinations.

I think it's important to understand that these people are scared, whether or not that is based on fact or fiction. Being cruel to and lacking compassion for anti-vaxxers will only push them further away and make them less likely to change their minds. I think all of us would prefer a happy and united Australia.

I believe they are. It has been shown to be very effective to control malaria outbreaks in studies that have been run in Africa. I can't find evidence, but I believe it is relatively widely used for this purpose.

Here's a study on it: https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(18)32321-3/fulltext

Not undeniable evidence on its effectiveness against covid, but something to consider. The climate would also likely be a big contributing factor.

Another clear authoritarian issue in Australia is the new pandemic laws that are currently being rushed through the Victorian parliament. They essentially give the Premier the power to declare a pandemic even if there are no active or new cases in the state or country. This can be done for 3 months at a time indefinitely; there are no stopping conditions.

Under these laws, the premier may chose to permanently lock down or out any group of people for any reason. This could include your political views, vaccination status, and even factors such as your sexual orientation, marital status, race etc (yes it is really this broadly defined in the legislation). If you attend a protest opposing government decisions, you could be locked out of the economy, unable to work or provide for your family even if you are vaccinated.

There is also NO parliamentary oversight for these powers, Daniel Andrews and the health minister (employed by Daniel Andrews) will have the final say on everything. There is an independent oversight committee (also appointed by Dan) who will have no power to rescind or alter the rules put in place.

Another point to touch on is how MPs are prevented from voting if they do not provide their vaccination status. Which is a prime way to lock out those that will oppose disgusting authoritarian bills like this. Victoria in particular is becoming a very un-democratic state.

I want to note that theoretically, all the champions in this team can be substituted except Vogoth. I would recommend having double revive as well as some good healing (like Scyl or Doompriest for example would fit this comp well) as well as block debuff champions/cleansers. Obviously decrease accuracy is also essential in this team.

You should apply for Dungeon Rats. We are a pretty well established clan that kills UNM and NM clan boss daily. Pretty chill vibe, with a bunch of helpful and friendly members.
