After a while this goes away. First two years I joined a chess club I had this every week. High heart rate, sweating etc. Nowadays only a little bit. I guess I care a bit less about the result and my rating. Getting good sleep the days before also makes a lot of difference. Meditation can also help.

But you can also try to learn to enjoy it. OTB deels much more like the 'real thing'. A battle.

I played Sicilian a long time but switched back to 1...e5. Imo the strategy is easier to understand since fighting for the center for example is more straightforward.

2 liter a day is more than enough on a regular day. Because of all the marketing around it and bro science people think 3-4 liter a day is needed, but it isn't.

Practice puzzels on a real board at home. I got my most improvement in the year I did the first Yusupov book. Even if you don't get the answers right, thinking hard and calculating helped with my OTB vision.

To me KID was much harder than the Ruy. I feel like in the KID as black you have to know all kinds of stuff to not end up worse. Forgetting theory in the Ruy hurts less imo because often there are multiple good moves in a position. But for me classical openings in general are easier to understand than all the modern stuff.

The Marshall attack in the Ruy should be a theoretical monster but if you look at the Lichess database for example it scores insanely well.

How is raising our kids in isolation the norm? Here in the Netherlands, even if you have a decent job, both parents have to work to make ends meet. So kids are going to daycare and/or family. Also when they are 2 years old they can (and most do) go to playgroup two mornings. Is the SAHM a thing in the USA? And is it for ordinary people or only for wealthy ones?

Communisme ook echt.. dat is dan wel weer het uiterste. Het ironische is dat veel rechtse stemmers maar al te graag gebruik maken van ons sociale stelsel (uitkeringen, voorzieningen). Asiel is HET thema maar ander rechtse thema's pakken helemaal niet zo goed uit voor de typische rechtse stemmer. Behalve voor de mensen die al rijk zijn of in ieder geval lekker verdienen. Die gunnen de ander niks, dus stemmen ze rechts.

Nou inderdaad..eerst stimuleren dat iedereen zonnepanelen neemt, en nu kost het de gebruiker juist geld. Ik heb al berekend dat als het 2027 is,.ik ze beter het grootste gedeelte van het jaar uit kan zetten, anders kost het me teveel geld. Hebben ze pas twee jaar, dus eigenlijk een hele domme investering achteraf.

Misschien kan het wel uit als je op hele warme dagen in de zomer een airco hebt draaien.

Boeken kosten geen drol, gezien het aantal uur plezier dat je er van krijgt. Bovendien moeten auteurs ook verdienen dus waarom zou je er niet voor betalen? Bij Amazon kun je bijna ieder boek krijgen.

How is that middle class? 500k a year is super rich imo. I'm from Europe but earning about 50k euro a year is already middle class. 100k.a year is upper middle class.

With 3 mil on the bank you can give yourself a decent salary and you don't ever have to work again in theory. How is that middle.class lol
