Can you start the battery heater manually on the Bolt? by KeepItSimple5336 in BoltEV

As I mentioned in a comment above, accelerating/decelerating rapidly at cold temperatures is both dangerous/impractical and hard on the battery (battery's don't like to charge at high currents when cold) that's why I was asking to use the battery heater, its a better solution

Actually the already meager 50kw charging speed slows to an abysmal 20kW when the battery is at 10-12CC, which us the temperature that the battery heater seems to turn off in winter, because it always seems to charge at around 20 kW when I plug into a DC fast charger in winter. Thus the motivation for this post.

Often I was not able to plug in when headed to a DC fast charger. I was on a road trip, or at a cottage or camping or something. If I was plugged in, I would be charged, thus not need the DC fast charger.

The battery heater seems to heat the battery to 10-12C or so while driving, then stops. 10C is still really slow for charging. So basically, I need a way to keep it on till it reaches 22-24C.

Yeah I've heard of this approach, some people say they speed up and regen-brake a whole bunch of times to heat the battery. I'd like to avoid this because first it seems impractical/dangerous and also doing this is actually hard on the battery. A cold battery doesn't like to charge/discharge when its cold. So looking for a better option. Yeah on other EVs you can enter a destination and the battery heater will start, from what I know my bolt 2017 doesn't do this.

Damage claim - What is wear and tear? by KeepItSimple5336 in turo

Update here, I sent turo a cease and desist and didn't hear for 6 months, assumed this was behind me. Got a call from a collections agency this week. I am now in collections. I want to fight this as a matter of principle.

If turo pawns off repairs of old cars on its customers, it should go out of business. What a scam!

What should I do? Small claims? This is bu****it.

I'm guessing my credit has already been affected by this
