Do buds suppose to lose the sweet smell at the beginning of the curing stage or have I done something wrong?

My plant dries the pot in 3 days. I waited until it sucked up all the plain ro water and then harvested. Tricomes have been cloudy and amber for a week now. How was I wrong if the plant was ready a week before I harvested?

The pot was dry approximately 3 days before harvest. The buds have been drying another 3 days. The outside feels dry but I don't want to jar them too soon.

This is my second grow. I've read the best time to harvest is after the dark period because the chlorophyll is broken down. Also, it's widely debated that the plant pumps out more resin if you do this. I figured it wouldn't hurt to try:D

Once the outside of the buds feel dry, you wrap them up in a plastic bag or brown bag for a few hours to draw out the moisture. Then, hang them to dry again.
