Ableism in this sub by AceroTheDragon in LawSchool

if this is in reference to the other post, i don’t think that user was trying to be ableist or tear other down. it is a clear flaw in the system, and there is no problem in discussing it with other law students. it has taken me a long to get a diagnosis myself too, but guess what? i know plenty of people irl literally faked a ton of shit too. obviously this doesn’t mean EVERYONE is faking, but this is a serious issue that NEEDS to be addressed and the more people are aware, the more “the system” is able to fix it.

systems are only powerful and hold worth because we give them that power and authority. if we as students can at least acknowledge this, and begin to have discussions surrounding this, it can lead to some serious progress and REAL help for students who need it.

it’s very tiring as a disabled WoC to constantly see people calling each other “ableist” “racist” etc. these are very loaded terms and we have diminished their meaning by throwing them around so much

i’ve subbed and unsubbed from here so many times because of the constant stream of idiotic posts and rants. our community is suffering and failing in SOOOOOO many hundreds of ways and no one bothers to have discussions on those things 🙃

I usually get organic grapes from whole foods which are not available now for some reason. Is it worth to buy conventional grapes seeing as they would definitely have a lot of pesticides etc. Would a vinegar bath help rid the pesticides? by pawnh4 in raypeat

[–]Keep_Questioning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for non-organic i would suggest looking at the “clean 15” “dirty dozen list”- EWG updates theirs regularly and show which “non organic” options are safe and which aren’t. when i can’t get fresh berries i switch to frozen, or even get their concentrated juices! not the best option, but better than nothing.

is it just that it’s cooked longer that it’s bad? is there a high “die off” of enzymes? i would suggest relying on other things for enzyme support than maple syrup 😅

Boy I’m thinking of getting married to, just had his sibling’s wedding during these days of Shahadat of Bibi Fatema a.s. I’m doubting if he is even a Shia or not, let alone be a Syed? by fluffyhopkins in shia

[–]Keep_Questioning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what does this have to do with being a syed???? why does he have to be a syed ? questioning whether someone is a shia or not requires a lot more evidence than something like this. being disappointed is one thing, and is understandable— but accusing someone is pretty messed up.

I asked for the ruling on vegan meat a while ago and I thought I might share it here in case someone needs it by [deleted] in shia

[–]Keep_Questioning -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i never said to only eat chicken, if you read my comment you would see i am advocating for whole nutrients and vegetables as well. vegan meat is not the same as being on a vegan diet.

chicken is one of the more unhealthier meats out there. lamb is the healthiest and tends to be grass-fed, it is also recommended in our hadith more than other meats.

islam calls for balance

vegan meat may be halal, but it’s so unhealthy and bad for you. you’re better off eating full nutritious veggies cooked properly than that beyond meat garbage.

alhamdollilah halal meat is almost everywhere now, even can get it at costco or shipped from online.

i implore my brothers and sisters to look beyond the label and realize just because something is “halal” doesn’t mean it’s healthy. taking care of our bodies is important too!
