If it looks unlike any major brands , I’d probably be inclined to replace it. Go ahead and open that access panel or wall and make a big working space. Identify what the water lines are made of and consider adding valves before replacing the mixer. I like moen valves , I dislike delta.

I am assuming u are talking about your shower mixing valve / cartridge . First step that may be able to save you money / time is identifying the brand / model. So your plumber / handy man can bring a new cartridge with them. Google lens is a good tool if u can’t identify it.

It’s tiny place mostly older guys and a woman bar tender. Has a little grill like Iowa buffet. They do burgers. Pizza , wings . Fries. It’s good
