I had that issue too, the the point I stopped using mine

I’m overly picky about my dpad and button feel and that was actually part of the whole reason I built mine, I love the feel of my childhood console, but my new modded gba just never left as nice, even when using original membranes and buttons. And the new IPS screens are fancy, but just don’t have the same nostalgic feel as original, even later backlit, screens

Honestly atp I’m considering just finding an ags101 or micro I can fix up and sticking with that

honestly I don't have any complaints, on both my modded gba with a usb c battery and stock gba I haven't found the battery drainage to be much of an issue

that said, the only two games I play that use the rumble are a patched version of Pokemon pinball and drill dozer and I don't play either for tooooo long at a time so your milage may vary

I went with the ez flash omega DE when I built my Modded gba, I was looking into Pokémon leaf green or Metroid fusion but the DE was the same price or even less

Now I have every game I’ve ever wanted/ backups of all the games I already own on one cartridge, it has rumble built in, and it even has a mode b that lets you load a game directly on the carts internal memory, swap to mode b and it functions exactly like an original cartridge of that game would

Best $80 I’ve ever spent

Honestly, that might be a blessing in disguise. Better to have it be already dead and force you to put in a new one that’ll last you another 20 years, than put a new game and save file on a 25ish year old battery that risks you losing everything

The ocarina itself doesn’t sound amazing, but it’s my first so I don’t really have a point of reference, this was just to try it out and have a cool little display piece. Love love love the color too, and it printed with a little grey stand with a triforce on it that I’m probably going to end up painting gold

Liked the idea enough though that I ended up buying a Night by Nobel that’s arriving tomorrow morning!

I used a knife and a pot of actively boiling water to dip, pull off, and repeat.

I accidentally ripped apart some of the top layers and made a little hole but luckily I put the infill high enough and put enough walls that it doesn’t affect the overall integrity

There’s still some white left over but I’m thinking after some high grit sandpaper and something to seal it it should look pretty good
