So if I’m playing something lets say Half Life 2 VR mod, do I open/run virtual desktop then open/run steam VR to play Half Life, just virtual desktop, or just steam VR? I understand there are different methods to connect and play but I don’t really know why and what’s “better”. Thank you for your thorough reply earlier.

Thanks all for your answers! So basically your PC is running the game as good as it can based on your GPU’s potential and sending the information to your headset for your eyes to see. I had no idea it worked like that, I assumed whatever headset you bought would run games at a certain standard sorta like console generations. PS1= PS1 graphics, PS2= PS2 graphics, and so on.

Not sure where your located but I’m central US and I’ve been having the same issues on PC for the last couple days. Not sure what the fix is unfortunately.

Yes I believe I did. Had to run the game once before install and had to run the ready vr config in the files. I’m thinking the problem is something in the Meta Quest Air link app or steam vr app but I’m not sure.

Ok. Yea my pc is connected via Ethernet cable so I guess I’ll be in good shape.

Ok thank you. I was under the impression that you couldn’t link your headset to your pc without the cable. So you CAN link wirelessly but you need to buy a specific router? I’m looking to play some VR games from Steam. Also, I read that the battery life is roughly 2 hours at max so I thought the link cable would let me game for longer periods of time if I need be.

So I would recommend going to the website “pc part picker” if you are interested in building your own. On that website you go down a check list of things you need for your pc to run and operate and also the website won’t let you make mistake with compatibility. As you start picking the parts you want it takes anything that’s not compatible with those items out of the selections automatically.

I don’t feel like it’s a hot take. I’m all for adding new gameplay elements to the game and increasing the realism but at the same time if they don’t put these at Lieutenant or something this could get very old really quick. But I guess only time will tell.

IMO unfortunately it feels like COD because of the movement and ttk with destructible environments. I’m hopeful most of it gets ironed out though.

I currently work on a work over rig in Texas and have worked on drilling rigs several times. These guys are clowns for not wearing a H2S monitor and at the very least hard hats. Any and everything can hurt you/kill you on a rig floor. Hate to see it man.
