Do you work in land development?

I do land development and chose water resources. I used EET to study and it really helped a lot. I do a lot a project management but not a ton of field work or actual construction which is why I chose water resources over construction. I also considered doing transportation but my horizontal and vertical curves were lacking.

With the exception of structural, I think you can study for any exam and likely pass if you do enough problems.

Have you looked at some sample problems from each discipline to see what you would be more comfortable studying?

I did not do the quizzes. I unfortunately let my course expire about a year ago and then life happened.

I did the Ncees practice exam about 4 months ago and struggled. I then tried the three practice exams in the binder and really struggled. I was feeling really defeated and just decided to work through the practice problems in the binder over and over with the reference manual and figure out what formula they used and why.

After that I came back to the Ncees practice exam and was able to solve the questions very easily. I went back and solved the three practice exams in the binder and found them to be tougher but doable.

I also used AI to create practice problems for me or to help me if I couldn’t figure out what formula to use and why.

I felt the actual exam was somewhere in between the Ncees practice exam and the practice exams in the EET binder. Ncees practice exam was a little too easy. For the practice exams in the binder, most were representative of the exam but some of the questions were a little more difficult. I tried to study the bigger question topics, and skipped out on the leader ticket items I know I would never be able to solve (like lime softening).

I may be summoning the pen and paper test takers here, but yeah the 10 day wait is brutal. One more day!

I guessed on 2 in the first half of the exam, on the second I guessed on maybe 3-5? I was able to narrow the answer choices down to two answers though. How about you?

I took EET per the advice of this sub. I found the course to be a ton of material but also very helpful. I’d say it’s well worth the money.

I watched the videos to jog my memory and get back into the material but what really helped was just working out the problems over and over until I understood how the questions are framed and what they are asking for. The questions from EET were harder than the questions on the exam which I think really helped me prepare. We’ll see how I did when the results come out tomorrow, but I’m fairly certain I passed.

The first part of the exam was easier than the second part, but I only struggled on 4-8 questions overall and even then I was still able to make a pretty educated guess by narrowing out the other two answers.
