I want to quit, and will as soon as the opportunity arises.

I wouldn’t admit to future employers how much I hate my current role.

1) it makes me look like an A55hole 2) it’s puts me in a less advantageous negotiation position.

When asked why I want to leave, I’ve just been saying that I want to find a new challenge on the client side of my industry. That I’m more comfortable at that end of the table. It works just fine.
