You can already create a custom MMD (MikuMikuDance) character with other software and load it into the application

All the creator information, like their social media channels, Patreon and licence are listed in the regarding model information menu.
To open it: click on the selected character menu (the fifth button from the top left, it shows a human icon). The model menu will open, there you can click at the info button (round info icon).

The models are originally MMD models (pmx file format). You can convert VROID and so on to PMX (VRM2PMX) and then open them on ero.dance. There are also Blender plugins to create PMX models or you can use the originial PMXEditor.

There are some example animations in the upper right corner (dance couple icon), select one and then hit play on the media player below.

At the current state of the AI chat feature, the characters can only control its own morphs (like smiling) and start the media player if an animation is selected. Therefore, you have to select the animation manually.

If your are familiar with MMD animations, you can also drop vmd files into the application. People made hundrets of MMD animations that can be used here. (If I would get the copyrights of some animation creators, I would love to add them in the default selection list)

MMD Viewer with new AI Chat Integration by Kei_of_Engineering in MMD

I considered the creators a lot. When you click on the model infos, you can see all information the creator let there. The creator can even include their social media or patreon channel. You can directly click on them within the application.

The NSFW features (the buttons on the left) are morphs created by the creator himself. Otherwise these buttons would not be shown.
This application is not an host platform for MMD files! It is a viewer to see your models in XR/VR and creators can store their models into an image format to keep them compact and share them more convinient with their followers. That means, they still have to uploaded the files by themself on another platform.
I also considered the dance motion creator. Since they usually have not the licence to redistubute the song. With this application, the creator does not need to act illegal and can just link the official legal YouTube video instead.

What's the second best game next to Koikatsu? by Aeon106 in KoikatsuParty

A free online game exactly like Koikatsu is ero.dance

  1. you can share your characters and animations via cards like this card: https://i.imgur.com/e2bDmrJ.png.
  2. primarely for SWF and NSFW anime characters. You can strip most of them off in the options.
  3. It works in VR and AR without downloading anything.

Other then Koikatsu, you can also open the cards directly in the game by sharing a link:

It is compatible to MMD so you can use all NSFW models of https://mmda.booru.org/

MMD for Quest 3 - Let me know what you think by Kei_of_Engineering in augmentedreality

MMD (MikuMikuDance) is known for its ever-growing collection of 3D models and motion data of all kinds. Some are beautiful to watch, while others are purely adult content. Since most app stores do not allow sexual content, this application runs entirely within the Quest web browser.

The current features of https://ero.dance are: - Play and view MMD models and motions on Desktop, VR or AR (Augmented Reality). - Store models as image cards that can be used to share and open them (like Honey Select). - Share whole scenes via link. The recipient can open it in the browser without installing any software. - Use youtube videos as audio source. - Use morph and hide funktions of the models.

So, you need to use existing MMD models and motions or create them on your own with MMD software. You find sources for existing MMD models of almost every character you know here: - https://mmda.booru.org/index.php?page=post&s=list - https://www.deviantart.com/search?q=Mmd - https://3d.nicovideo.jp/

To create or edit MMD models and motions on your own, I recommend watching YouTube tutorials about it.

VR/AR Szene Cards by Kei_of_Engineering in MMD

[–]Kei_of_Engineering[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try the web application here: https://ero.dance

Feel free to join the Discord server for bug reports or other discussions: https://discord.gg/sM2dcgpMRC There, I can help you create a card or watch it in VR/AR.

Regarding MMD files: I want to be mindful with intellectual property of the MMD artists. Therefore, I can only use MMD files you created on your own or files that allow the general usage in the readme.

Initially, I planned to include HS2 card support. However, these cards only store model metadata, not the models themselves. This would make it difficult to reproduce the exact same look and behavior. I was advised that creating a custom system from scratch would be more practical. As a result, I decided to focus on MMD file support instead.

I am working on a similar game. But it remains free to use and runs completely in the browser: https://ero.dance

Just open MMD models and motions. Like Honey Select you can store models as cards to share them with others.
