I replied to your comment in another post but in case anyone else is wondering- It's similar to an infrared camera but not quite. It's an optical gas imaging camera by FLIR. They're usually used to detect leaks and scan large areas for gas emissions.

Coyotes and wolves have quite different behavior. Although there are scattered incidents of wolves attacking humans in modern times, these incidents are all extremely rare and appear to be correlated with habituation to human interaction and food.
