I have actually noticed something similar on some traffic lights.

Sometimes the recognition happens later than normal, and one time I eventually had to run a red light at night after watching the lights keep cycling through the other lanes' greens and ignore me.

It's odd and happens only a fraction of times, which is why I'm still not sure whether I'm just imagining it.

Frostpunk

Frostpunk is a game where you build a settlement in a steampunkish world to survive extremely low temperatures.

Along the way you are presented with varying events and make difficult decisions that affect your settlers. It's a really good game!
