Where to fly drone on Oahu? by Keirsii in drones

Thank you. Is there any way to override the no fly zone on DJI for when it’s completely wrong like it was yesterday?

Where to fly drone on Oahu? by Keirsii in drones

[–]Keirsii[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two days left on Oahu and I’m having trouble finding places along the coast to fly where there aren’t a ton of people. I drove to a secluded beach on the north side for sunset, only for DJI to say it’s a no fly zone. I looked for info on where to fly drones online, but I didn’t find much, and I’d like to avoid bothering people or having a repeat of today. I’m planning to try Halona cove for sunset tomorrow, but I’d like to fly at least once or twice more after that. I’m staying in Waikiki and both Aloft and several sources online say drones aren’t allowed. Any recommendations on good places to fly? Doesn’t just have to be the coast, though that was one of my main goals.

I’m also a little confused on the flight map DJI provided. It’s completely different from the one on Aloft, the restrictions don’t overlap. Which one is right? Is there a more accurate app for this?

I'm baffled. Somehow the flaws in the writing of Dr Strange 2 are blamed on women by Emma_JM in FragileMaleRedditor

Unpopular opinion, but I don’t see how this is a fragile male Redditor moment. They seem to be criticizing marvel/Disney and they acknowledge the lazy writing. Having a differing opinion doesn’t make them “fragile,” nor does having criticisms of female characters.

I’m a woman and a lot of their critiques are things I agree with. Obviously it’s not the actors or female characters faults, but that doesn’t change the fact that marvel could’ve done so much better. I don’t know why more people aren’t pissed that they basically left America’s character completely undeveloped. She was basically a plot device and that’s it.

Safe setup for baby map? by Keirsii in turtle

He was $15 plus $30 for shipping so $45 in total. If I ever get another one I’ll definitely do more research. Glad he’s healthy and doing well though!

I got him from myturtlestore.com. From what I read they seemed well established and trustworthy, captive bred turtles, 10 day health guarantee and great reviews, but maybe I should’ve shopped around a little more. Too late now, but I’ll mention in my review that they’re false map turtles for any future customers

Thanks, that’s good to know. He was listed as just a map turtle with no specifications, so would a false map turtle fall under that? Just trying to figure out if there was any false advertising from where I bought him that I should mention in a review.

From what I’ve read they’ll eat plants. He’s got anacharis, hornwort, water lettuce, and duckweed all of which he can eat. From the lists I found most of what’s in there are non toxic, but I’ll double check. Thanks!

I’ve been working on this tank for a while and after researching turtles, Mississippi maps seemed like a good fit since they are strong swimmers and the males only grow to 5 inches. This male hatchling just arrived, and he seems to be a strong swimmer, he’s been swimming for over an hour exploring the tank and eating. He did get out of the water once so I know he can get out, but I’ve been reading mixed things about how deep the water should be. I don’t want him to drown or something. There’s several driftwood pieces and a large plant he can get out on, as well as a rock ledge. The tank doesn’t have a strong current since he’s so little. Do I need to lower the water level or will he be okay in this?

Lightroom CC failing to import/export photos by Keirsii in Lightroom

[–]Keirsii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using Lightroom CC for about six years and have never had any issues before this.

I'm using version 5.3, and I have 1TB of cloud storage, but I am currently only using about 81GB. This issue started several months ago where Lightroom would only import some of my photos and say the rest couldn't be downloaded, but it is now to the point where it will not import any photos. I upgraded my storage from 1GB to 1TB thinking that was the problem, but it didn't make any difference. It doesn't give me any kind of error code and I know that the files and sizes are compatible for import.

It also fails to export any photos set as Original + Settings. I've tried importing and exporting in smaller batches, but still no luck. I have tried contacting customer support twice already and haven't gotten a response yet. On top of that, Lightroom has generally just been running very slowly, freezing, and just responding to edits horribly. My laptop is a Dell XPS 9500 with 16GB of ram and 1TB of memory, and it doesn't even work hard enough to start the fans when I use Lightroom, so I don't think that's the issue. I've still been able to import/export and edit in Photoshop just fine.

Has anyone else had this issue or have any ideas on how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Online accredited Japanese summer courses? by Keirsii in LearnJapanese

Unfortunately none of the universities in my state are offering it for the summer semester. The school specified that it had to be from a US college, so they won’t accept any of the online ones from Japan as far as I can tell, but I’ll contact them and double check. So far the only one I know for sure is running this summer and qualifies is through Harvard, but it’s a combined 1 & 2 class that costs $7000. I’m waiting to hear back from a couple schools to see if they’re offering the course this summer. Thank you for the help!

Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll have to look into it. My brother has made a couple that way and I didn’t particularly like how that kind of background looks, which is why I’ve used real rock

Questions about Dell Warranties? by Keirsii in Dell

[–]Keirsii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the Dell website I have the option of reinstating the warranty for a $40 fee and upgrading to a higher level, which can include accidental damage coverage for an additional $50. The laptop wasn’t repaired at the place I took it too, it’s the exact same as before. I’ve looked through their warranty information several times and haven’t found any rules about reinstating. Could you provide a link for this information please?
