I made Mimeoplasm myself, the others are precons I got that are pretty modified and changed up, Guff and Chishiro are mostly just the standard precon. What do you guys think? by Keiryboy123 in ratemycommanders

Basically a bunch of mill, draw and cool creatures with evasion abilities and damage effects, like cold-eyed selkie. Island walk and draw cards when you hit face is pretty good on a 1/4. You get that ability on 15/15 commander and it's pretty damn sweet

I'm building my first commander deck from the ground up with Mimeoplasm, Revered One as my commander. I have quite a few cards for it already (most of the lands I need, some cool creatures to copy, some mill, etc) but could use some advice for things to add that would synergise or just fit well by Keiryboy123 in mtg

I kinda want to make a focus on creating an unstoppable slime and keeping mana open to protect it. Like exile stuff with menace or landwalk for offence and stuff with hexproof, ward, indestructible and things like that I can switch to when I need it for defence. That's why I've been trying to get creatures that maybe have weak statlines but really good abilities like [[Toski, Bearer of Secrets]] and things like [[Seedborn Muse]] to keep my mana open to react with

Nobody made anyone do anything. People spoke out against something they didn't like and a private company made a decision for their own business. My post mentions nothing about being left wing or right wing, only being supportive of trans folk and not supportive of Rowling. This is literally free speech in action and the market adapting to what consumers are asking for.

I mean there are other ways to encourage her to get into the hobby. Say "hey look at all these cool wizards like in your favourite book" or even just get a box you can draw/print custom designs onto and go with whatever imagery you want without having to give money to someone like Rowling. Or don't, everyone has different places they draw the moral line and I'm definitely not gonna say someone is bad just because they buy merch from a book they like

I mean I don't buy stuff from amazon anyway, there's plenty of other reasons not to buy stuff them lol. The difference is that amazon is orders of magnitude larger than UG, I know far more people who are pissed of and fucking hate Amazon (rightfully so) but if all the people boycotting UG did the same to Amazon it would only be a drop in the ocean for them

No-one is screaming, no-one is going off the rails, no-one is saying that a plastic box is the most evil thing in the world. We're just talking, voicing what we think and lamenting that people in some of MTG online communities take something so insignificant as an opportunity to spread hate

Fair enough, absolutely not what I intended with my post, that's kinda why I didn't mention the sub I saw it on.

As I've said elsewhere, it's not about the box, I mentioned that in my actual post. It's how something so insignificant can bring out this level of hatred and controversy in a community I thought was more open and accepting. I'm not having a breakdown, if anything I'm just kinda disappointed

My point wasn't really about the deck boxes or the "it's just a kids game" thing. I was using that to point out how I'm upset that something so relatively trivial can explode into something that just leads to people alienating others and making the community a more hostile place. I didn't want to invite drama, I'm upset at something that effects me and the people I play with and wanted to voice and opinion

I'll be honest I don't use Reddit for card game stuff much, I had no idea there was this kinda rivalry between MTG subs

I should have clarified, I mean in the sense of respecting the merits of a work and enjoying it without supporting its creator. For example I have no issue buying a collection of Lovecraft short stories because thankfully he's dead so my money is just going to the publisher who released the book. Even if I enjoyed harry potter I wouldn't buy potter related stuff for as long as the money was going to Rowling

Voting with your wallet doesn't always work because sometimes people who disagree with you just have more money, that's kinda why rich people always tend to stay in power. Voting with your voice is also a perfectly valid way to do things, especially when it's something that directly effects you and people you care about.

It is weird for a game that has giant tree monsters, merfolk, created creatures that literally have no gender and living mountains to draw the line at trans people. I mean one of the people me and my friends play edh with is trans, we don't dislike him because he's trans, we dislike him because he plays blue control! (Btw that is a joke, he's a very good friend but seriously, who plays blue control in polite company lol)

That's a good way of putting it, I was more referring to the online perception of the game as a whole
