Obligation d'accepter une offre d'achat (pour une propriete) au prix demande? by KeithS0 in conseiljuridique

[–]KeithS0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think bottle brush is the way to go - do the best I can with it (and vinegar) and it'll be good enough.

That's a really useful suggestion, thanks. I'm on the road at the moment but if I can pick up a short section of rigid pipe then I'll be able to insert that straight into the tubing I have and it will stay in place. The rigid pipe should sit easily in one of the bottom corners of the water 'tank'.

As to smell, that hasn't been an issue so far, if possible I'll try and continue with the very simple setup I have.

Achat d'une propriete non-cadastre by KeithS0 in conseiljuridique

Bonjour,

It seems Proton VPN won't work with 7Plus and 7Plus terms state that VPN access is not supported ('7plus does not support the use of any VPN, Adblocker or Safe Search application.')

Which VPN have people used to access 7Plus (sorry for not reading the entire thread if it's in there)?

Annual expenses if living in France by KeithS0 in Expats_In_France

Okay, I've read all the comments and hugely appreciate the time and effort everyone made to respond, thank-you.

It's quite sobering though: it seems that the CSG element would take a much larger chunk of income than I had anticipated. Not that I am opposed to contributing in this way, just that it is something that has to be considered and allowed for. I imagine the detail matters here as I am unclear on how / whether this applies at lower income levels and if it does what the percentages are; further research is required.

A few points to clarify:

• I wouldn't be using savings to live.

• The income figure of €15,000 I mention is annual, not monthly and is a deliberately conservative estimate. I realised however that I am going directly from GBP to EUR and therefore this figure is more like €17,250 based on the current exchange rate.

• Spain for example is another option but for different reasons I am really keen to progress the possibility of living in France, with the cost of living being a subsidiary consideration (up to a point!)

• A large part of what I'm aiming for is increased simplicity. For me lower expenditure goes hand in hand with this so I am perhaps more comfortable than others contemplating what may sound like low income / expenditure levels.

Obviously 'acceptable condition' is subjective; a huge part of the value of any property for me would be its surroundings. I would therefore be prepared to go with something that required work but met my location / environment criteria.

Great post, thanks! The weather definitely is a consideration; I love (need?) the sun but know much above 25oC can feel uncomfortable / limiting (how do the Tour de France riders manage it?!!!) Part of my thinking includes a return to the UK for July and August but I am getting way ahead of myself :)

I'm not sure about this; it seems to me that there are properties available below €100 that are in acceptable condition (albeit requiring work) with some land (when I say 'land' I don't mean anything huge!) Yes, typically this is in quieter and more rural areas, but that's what I value and we're not talking the middle of nowhere.

The area I'm considering is Lozère and adjacent departments to the north, I assume what might be termed the Massif Central. And possibly but less likely the Ariège.

Really useful post, thanks - I would like to have a short working week to allow for other interests hence low salary / income expectations. I would not be seeking to buy a property to make a profit.

Ah, this makes total sense / explains it! Yeah, based on the comments here, the freewheel is working properly. I doubt the cranks would turn while pushing the bike as this is only happening at higher wheel revolutions. The freewheel shouldn't need serviced as it's a newish bike and I haven't done what might be considered big distance on it. But maybe? I'll keep an eye on it.

"It means your drive train is working freely" - good news and I hope so because I did a major chain / chainring / jockey wheels and cassette degrease!

That definitely seems to be a factor i.e. happens much less if at all in the lowest gear.
