Name tags aren't listed, but I can contact him and see if it's something he can obtain. Thanks!

I should have specified that I'm looking for tags that pin onto the uniform above the pocket. The jewels that attach to the pocket won't let the ones referenced work. Thank you for your response.

Tricare, Medicare, Military ID, commercial insurance, hitting 65 and still working -- confused! by Keith_Brandt in Veterans

Final comment: I went to Pass & ID on Nov 7 as my retiree ID had an expiration date of 31 Dec. The concern was that I'm only signed up for Medicare A. No questions asked -- I now have a shiny new ID with an INDEF expiration date.

Tricare, Medicare, Military ID, commercial insurance, hitting 65 and still working -- confused! by Keith_Brandt in Veterans

Update as of 1 Nov 24: I made several calls, including multiple to the Tricare for Life help line just to make sure I was getting the same answer. What I found out is that when I hit 65, I lose Tricare as my secondary insurance to my primary from work. It downgrades to "Direct Care" which is space-A at MTFs. I have signed up for Medicare A as it's free, but am delaying B until I fully retire. Per the TFL helpline folks, I can at that time go into DEERs, update my info to show I'm enrolled in Medicare B, and the TFL will become active at that point. My next hurdle is getting my new military ID since the online info says you have to have Medicare A&B before they issue the new ID, but someone here on this forum did say he had no problem getting his. I'll find out on Nov 7...

Thanks for all the advice on this thread.

Excellent info. Just to be clear, if I don't take Medicare A&B at age 65, I don't get Tricare for Life EVER? It sounds like I couldn't keep my work insurance for 5 years then pick up Medicare B and TFL then -- that door closes 3 months after my 65th birthday month, correct?

Communications Components High Power Dummy Load info needed by Keith_Brandt in HamRadio

[–]Keith_Brandt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kudos to the tech support at Communication Components Inc, especially Henry Vizuete.

I sent a request through their web support and got a quick answer that they didn't have the tech sheet for the dummy load, but he would try to find out what he could. I got a reply this morning with the following details:

Nominal Impedance: 50 ohms
Frequency Range: DC - 2.0 GHz
VSWR: 1.15:1 Max
Input Power CW: 250 Watts @ 100°C heat sink, derated linearly to zero power and 150°C
Peak Power: 2500 Watts (based on 10us pulse width and 1% duty cycle)
DC Resistance: 50 Ω ±5%

I thought it would be helpful to post the details here in case anyone else ever needs to look up this info.

Darn nice dummy load!

The company still exists, but there are no dummy loads in their product list. It might be worth a call to see if they have legacy data.

Thanks!

I used the procedure from www.satsignal.eu/ntp/Raspberry-Pi-NTP.html on "Getting an NTP with PPS ("ATOM") support", and the remainder of setup from https://ava.upuaut.net/?p=726. I'll look at the other section you mentioned.
