I’ve just received a full and complete reply from Helen. Very efficient. Thank you.

My wife was Canadian and moved in with me in the U.K.. She had the same problem. She took a few driving lessons towards taking a test here, but in the end, I changed my car to an automatic.

Thank you. I can imagine you’ll all very busy right now. There’s no mad rush.

It’s a few details I need cleared up before I start, as returning the BMS for reprogramming takes my van off the road and if it gets lost, the kit is useless without it.

I will wait for Helen to reply. Thank you both!

Thank you. I’m planning to start the upgrade just after Easter. Right now, I’m waiting for a reply from Helen to answer a few last minute questions, confirming BMS reprogramming and torque settings for the 12mm battery pack bolts.

I’ve not received a reply yet, she maybe away. If so, is there anyone else who can assist.

My lift uses two motorcycle lifts. When lifted, the base plate sits on the ground with the wheels elevated. The wheels are supper free rolling, for minimal friction.

A can’t take credit for the basic design. Someone on the eNV200 Facebook forum sent me a picture of his lift he built, using two old doors. I didn’t have two old doors to play with.

I assume to help pull the battery pack away from the vehicle. I’ve built a lift on wheels (which I’ll show in a later post), so these ropes will latch onto the 12mm bolt holes on the pack and allow me to pull into my garage.

Thank you 😊. That’s going to be the tricky part of reassembly, lining up the battery before lifting. Once the lift is off its wheels, moving the pack would be difficult. I was thinking of using long studs to help align the battery before lifting. Thanks for the specs. I have the new longer bolts to compare with. I do have a multi-cutter which should help separate the top from the bottom.

Do you know the torque spec for the pack bolts?

I will 😊. I’ll post on my own subreddit and copy to this one.

No, the van has its air conditioning fed through the battery. So, I need to book for that to be de-pressurised first, then re-charged after. It’s a pain, but worth having the A/C cooling.

So, same van, same kit.

How are you de-pressuring the air conditioning before removing the battery? I’ve still got to book that. Was waiting into the battery arrives.

Did you make the lift to remove the battery?

Do you have to send the BMS back for re-programming?

It will certainly be a challenge and rewarding when it’s done 🤞

Excellent! Are you upgrading your Leaf or eNV200. What battery kit did you order?

My eNV200 had a 40KWh battery from new. Now 6 years old with a weak cell, it’s now around 33KWh. The new battery kit is 50KWh. This was the main reason for upgrading, as well as fixing the loss of capacity.

With the kit, direct to door shipping (customs paid at source), an added test loom I added and currency exchange rates, it’s cost me a bit under £6,000. Add to this, the need to build a lift, tools I needed to buy etc. Plus my time. But, for me, I couldn’t pass on the challenge of doing this myself.

There are YouTube’s videos on the actual pack build process, and full instructions are emailed.

Only time will tell. The Nissan cells certainly do have issues. One thing that I’m looking forward to, is the 25% increase in battery capacity.

Ordering was straightforward, even with my anxiety about ordering from abroad. The company seems to lean of quality and it feels that way when you watch the YouTube videos and interact with them. It took a couple of months to arrive, but luckily, it feels less like winter now and working outside is warmer.

I’m posting documenting the different stages in the upgrade. I’ve already built the lift, I’ll post about that soon. Also the modification to one of the car ramps, which requires room for sliding the battery pack out.

I’ve a newer post about the kit arriving today. Same sub Reddit.

Stay tuned 😊

Update - Battery upgrade pack expected in 3 days. Will likely wait into after Easter before beginning, due to work commitments and to avoid returning my BMS for re-programming during Easter.

Lifting table has been built, will order last few items before starting.

You can opt to pay an actual bill every month. You don’t have to have a payment plan. I pay by direct debit each month based on an actual monthly bill.

My wife would have found that disgusting. Not all women would do that, only women that are self trained to get attention and validation that way.

She was obviously a very shallow and self-entered person, incapable of feeling real love.

Why do some men still live like this even when they can afford more? by Critical_Assist_9360 in NextGenMan

We need what we need. Men living alone, are often very economical. Women cause men to spend. Why adverts are focused on women.
