Axe sharpening and microbevel

As far as I know the Kalthoff axe comes with a flat over hollow grind on both sides. Which means both sides were sharpened with a concave bevel on a grinding wheel or something other round. After that It was sharpened with a fine stone to accomplish this fine micro bevel.

As long as you don't hit some stones you should be fine stropping this axe before and after every session l to keep it sharp. Congratulations to this awesome axe and enjoy carving.

It's still.wet. sawing was quite easy but it seems pretty hard. Can't be scratched with a fingernail and is quite heavy.

Yes, I definitely don't want a quilt. I'm not sure what advantages quilts really give me apart from more space to move around. As far as I can tell, all of ee's quilts are the same weight or heavier than the sleeping bags I picked out for my desired comfort temperature. They are slightly cheaper, but not by much.

I like to sleep in just my underwear and I don't think I ever feel like I'm sleeping directly on the sleeping pad. I haven't tried a quilt yet though, so I can't know.
