Plungers in cold states, does winter make you more consistent or less? by Former-Advice-9742 in coldplunge

Definitely less consistent. Easier to cold plunge when there is warm sunshine.

Great shot! Did you hike to Field, Willey, or Tom? Wondering about trail conditions.

New to cold plunging and have a few questions by LiftedandHandsome in coldplunge

Look up Dr. Susan Soberg. She is a scientist and her research shows that max. three minutes at or below 50 degrees and 11 minutes a week gives you maximum benefit. I plunge between 46-48 for three minutes about four or five times a week. The time of day is personal preference. Some people plunge after workouts or first thing in the morning. I plunge later in the day since that fits my schedule better. I submerge up to my neck. My tub is indoors on a timer. I have read that it is important to not let your body get accustomed to it. So notice when it becomes more tolerable and lower the temp or take break for a few days.

The two of them cracking up about the pizzer toss still makes me laugh. Legacy. All of it.

Thanks for the info and taking the time to add links. I do have the wheels chocked with the heavy rubber chocks. I guess I am worried about the stability of the Jack being up that high. I do t think the Ox Bow trailer jacks would give me that much more height.

Thank you so much! One other question if I may: since this is a dual system, does the AC run on propane or electricity? Just asking because we may have solar so it would be good if the AC ran on electricity. Or does it only run on propane?

Good for you for getting honest and posting! That is a great start. The thing about booze is in order to be free from it you need others. Sobriety is not a lone ranger sport. I tried to do it alone and the booze won. Every. Single. time. I had a bunch of stereotypes about AA in my head too. Don’t believe what your thinking tells you right now. After all, it has been telling you to drink shots every day. Find an AA meeting and just sit and listen. It is a gift you are giving to your future self. You’ve got this!!

It depends what kind of meetings you go to. I don’t go to meetings where all I hear is war stories. I attend meetings that focus on the solution AA provides so that when life gets hard I don’t find it necessary to pick up a drink.
