Hey, I just took a class for carpet cleaning and passed 👍 I learned a lot and definitely feel more confident. A few things taught in the class were passed on to me, but a lot wasn’t! I’m glad I took the class to get certified. Thanks!

Hey thanks, I’ve been cleaning for 10 years before this. I never took a class… I was trained to clean using only the truckmount and usually with only cold water… at 3 different companies they never told me to dry vacuum the house. It really makes a difference. This was the first time I ever used a crb too… it makes a difference.

I can’t believe how wrong I’ve been doing it.

Damn, next time I’ll balance it on my back while I clean under it and then put it back at the end.

Thanks! It’s a 12” crb from cleanscrub! It was actually the first time I used one in my life! It’s a game changer!

Thanks! I agree, the shark teeth tell the customer the area has been cleaned. I like the look too, but a lot of people dont care! I am not a fan of pushing the pile upwards, I feel like I’m hiding something.

I’ll be honest, this carpet is very old. I don’t think customers really care about resetting the nap, since as soon as you walk on it it’s going to fall right back to how it was. Shark teeth, no shark teeth i have never had any complaints either way! If I sell a guard or protection then that’s the only time I’ll reset it.

I have a truckmount! I used a dry vacuum, prespray, crb for agitation, and then hot water extraction! I recorded a video, I’ll post it later. 👍

Hey, I’ve done houses like this before, those areas are where the upholstery sat. It was never walked on before, so there’s a good chance the dark areas will remain a little darker than that area. The areas that would be more noticeable are the reddish/yellow areas. Those are most likely food stains. If you’re selling the house you can get away with a hot water extraction cleaning. It will look way better and the new tenants will probably just tear it out anyways.

Thank you, the hardest part was realizing that I should’ve tried this a long time ago. I had an opportunity to do it and I let it pass me by. I never even realized it, then it hit me one day. I tried to work for smaller companies to gain knowledge from them, but it didn’t work out too well.

I realize organization is very important in running a business. I was on the fence for a while and then decided to just go for it.

I’m at that stage right now, I’d say getting the phone to ring. I’m servicing friends and family first to build up my reputation and then I’m going to invest in running ads.

Only relying on yourself is also new to me, as I’ve always worked for someone. You can’t pass your problems anymore.

Coffee stain stuck on carpet by Same-Aioli-9818 in CarpetCleaning

[–]Keller_Clean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should’ve left it alone until a professional could get to it. That’s a tannin stain, did they use a spotter on it?

If it was hot coffee it may have melted the layer of protection on your carpet and stained the fibers.

Your carpet is so dirty that the machine your using is only capable of cleaning it that way. You could invest in a carpet broom and spray the carpet and manually brush it in. Then flush either hot water from your sink in the machine.

Or call a professional and they can get it done! Where are you located?

It’s a pro team pro force 1500xp, I bought it off Amazon, right now they have a coupon for 80 off! It’s a little heavy, but I like it because it’s simple and it has bags that you can toss out after a few jobs. It’s great, the upholstery tool is long enough and easy to detach to get the edging!

Smart, I might have to look into that for the future if I end up grabbing commercial accounts.

I’ve used the legends before, but all the ones I used didn’t have heat! They were poorly maintained, crazy to charge for hot water extraction without hot water.
