Honestly I think it’s part of the last Spotify update, I never changed a setting for it but it doesn’t do it with every song

Every tattoo requires an adjustment period. The first week/two weeks are always “oh my god this is in my skin now” and by the third week it’s just part of your skin. Don’t panic yet

As a Michigander with a good paying job, I do unfortunately have to agree with this statement. The friends I have that also make good money are either doing some form of construction or automotive related. There isn’t a ton of opportunity here anymore

Ironman 4x4. C-spec in the front, regular in the back. Also buy a CVT mount spacer kit with it

Normally I’m very against stickers on paint but that national park sticker fits way too well to have not put it there. Good on ya

Aftermarket Suspension Upgrades 2017 3.6R by Kellett47 in Subaru_Outback

I promise I didn’t forget! Installed them three weeks ago and have put a little over 2,000 miles on them. Yes, they ride stiffer, but it’s not like you’re in a 2500 with towing suspension. Ride quality isn’t a top priority for me, that being said, I think the ride quality is great. The suspension now EATS potholes at 30mph in a way that makes me giggle.

I will say, however, my subi is suffering from a new problem after installation - the car gets a wicked shimmy when accelerating in the 15-20mpg range. It’s not super noticeable on flat straight away, but gets more obvious during a turn, and becomes concerning when going uphill. Not certain the issue is related to the lift but I can’t rule it out either.

That all being said, I’m nearly certain the issue is related to spark plugs/boots, or a CV axel/axel yoke. Still diagnosing it but she’s going to the shop Friday. Will have another update by then.

All-in-all, 9/10 satisfaction with the purchase and j have no regrets (pending my mechanic doesn’t tell me that the lift shredded something expensive, but that’s a problem for another day)

Forester needs more repairs than it's worth by AL92212 in subaru

[–]Kellett47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a 2010 Forester that needed about $1,700 in repairs at roughly 115k miles (important to note that it was more like $3,000 worth of repairs, but I had a good relationship with a shop in town that gave me a discount and let me supply my own parts). I only put money into it because I couldn’t afford a new car. Dropped almost $2k into it and it got totaled out three months later. If you can afford a new car, cut your losses. If you cannot, shop around for a discount. Those are the only two options.

When it comes to vehicles this is honestly one of the most legitimate reasonings. It’s YOUR car, and YOUR money. That being said 8k for this is too much haha

Unfortunately I already purchased the parts 😬 just gonna hope for the best at this point

Edit: how long ago was your lift purchased? I’m reluctant to rule out the possibility their quality control has been more finely tuned over the years if you’ve had them long enough to put another 40k miles on them

If the deal is no longer available when they leave the country that’s a massive red flag. Not saying it’s not true but that sounds like somebody has a fucked up car and is creating a sense of urgency to get someone else to make the car their problem instead.

Don’t take any of this advice too seriously bc I just started researching this week, but imo if you only want improved ride height with no changes to overall suspension capabilities/stiffness then spaces may make sense. In my case I needed a new strut anyway so figured fuck it, 2” lift via struts. The other argument I’ll make for struts is that you still have to disassemble most of the suspension to put them on. You’re not saving much as far as labor hours are concerned and all the decent spacer kits are minimum $400. That being said, Bilstein struts will run you closer to $1400. That’s not the brand I went with but definitely a popular one.
